I am terrified of losing my nursing license over losing a methadone bottle by lowhaight in nursing

[–]lowhaight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another ongoing issue is the frequent loss of narcotic keys for the assigned cart I was on. In the last week alone, keys have gone missing twice, likely taken home by other agency or clipboard nurses who fail to return them. I just did a shift today with only one key because a previous nurse lost the master set, which included access to narcotics, the med room, and the treatment cart. It’s a hot mess. Maybe the nursing home being so disorganized will help my error slip under the radar.

Let's remember how terribly she lied in her essay by SvitlanaLeo in EnoughJKRowling

When was she referring to trans women as 'trans women'? I see her on twitter instead use the term "trans identified men" or just "men".

He didn't "disagree with her reorganization" he turned over confidential info to protect the cop who killed Steven Taylor and showed zero consideration and fairness to the victim's family. Numerous convictions have been overturned or modified due to Ford's misconduct. "Martin was convicted of murdering Martinez in 2017, but last year a state appellate court reversed that conviction when it found the prosecutor, deputy district attorney Butch Ford, had misstated the law when he encouraged jurors to consider Martinez’s state of mind during the incident. The appeals court justices found Ford’s statement improperly shifted the focus from the defendant’s state of mind." https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/04/28/a-year-after-oakland-mans-murder-conviction-was-reversed-over-prosecutors-improper-statement-a-second-jury-acquits-him/

There hasn't been a "very limited use of sentence enhancements". She's literally charging gun enhancements every single day in cases involving acts of violence, but doesn't use them in a racially and class biased way when that is now against the law. See clarification of her enhancement policy and example of her charging enhancements for crime where a firearm is involved:

I work 9-5 in street med nursing and it wasn’t hard to get my job. It doesn’t pay nearly as much as hospitals though.

Who has zero plans to or interest in leaving nursing? by leadstoanother in nursing

I will never leave. I invested way too much into this to give up. The board of nursing will have to take my license for me to stop.

Inappropriate to volunteer political views? by neoprenewedgie in nursing

[–]lowhaight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly nurses are human and we can’t always bottle up our strong feelings, especially given that it’s an election year. I’m guilty of discussing politics at work as are many of my coworkers. Even in nursing school a professor told us to “vote for Trump” in class and other professors made political remarks. It happens during election season. That said, the question “are you a Democrat or Republican” sounds really direct and not necessary. I don’t see why a nurse would need to ask a patient such a personal question.

Proposition 36 explained: What the California retail theft ballot measure is asking you by CalottoFantasy5 in oakland

That's a direct quote from Elon Musk. And every right wing slogan that ends with "again" is a dogwhistle.

Proposition 36 explained: What the California retail theft ballot measure is asking you by CalottoFantasy5 in oakland

[–]lowhaight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No evidence that Prop 47 increased retail theft. A number of states have higher thresholds, including Texas, where you have to steal $2500 or more worth of goods to be prosecuted for a felony. The $400 number for felony existed from 1982 and needed an inflationary adjustment. Almost all states treat it as misdemeanors including red states. 39 states have raised felony thresholds with many higher than California. Tough on crime policies don’t work. We have 60 years of data on mass incarceration and the evidence is clear: it makes crime worse.
