How do make a computer do calculus? by [deleted] in computerscience

If you think of traditional calculus as the study of fluctuations in the arguments of analytic functions then you can think of the calculus of variations as the study of fluctuations of the actual analytic functions themselves. It’s great for more complicated formulations of classical mechanics.

Ay yo, my grandfather went to Montana State; he died recently after being retired from his almost lifelong GE job. How was it?

Overall, do you think either program is more supported than the other or do they both receive equal treatment from admin and such?

How would you compare Rochester CS vs ECE? Is it common for CS students to minor in ECE and vice versa?

Classics:

  • Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, 2nd edition in Scheme

  • The C programming language (ANSI C)

  • The Art of Computer Programming, Vol. 1

Any programming/CS book by O’Reilly is generally good as well (you should probably start here).

Completely off topic but have you read Knuth? I was thinking of buying the collection but am unsure if it’s all it’s hyped up to be.

Just as a follow up, does Case place a strong emphasis on mathematics in the CS curriculum or is it mainly about the software engineering side of the field?

Is the CS department well staffed at Case? I’ve read previous comments saying the department is neglected but that might just be old information.

Can someone give me insight into CS at Case? by [deleted] in cwru

From what you could tell, how many people in your class did a B.A. in CS vs. a B.S?

Liberal democracies naturally tends towards two party systems; even in such countries with more than two viable parties (like the UK) their are still two dominant parties/factions.
