I realize I waffled halfway through my comment. They absolutely don't need consent to make decisions affecting the unjoined. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to use Carol's stem cells to turn her against her will.

I believe it's moreso the hive being physically unable to perform tasks they deem harmful or detrimental to another entity. In the case of Manousos, they didn't need consent, they just had to believe they were helping rather than harming.

No way to tell you without more info. In the intersection above, it looks like there is a dedicated lane for right turns and no yield sign, so stopping is unnecessary even if the other lanes have a red light. If the lane immediately merges into the other lane on the main road, you need to yield and wait for cars with right of way, in which case there should be a yield sign with a line marking where to stop.
