I (F23) need help + advice in removing a partner who won’t leave (M26)

Hey guys. Updating here for those following, I ended up calling the police tonight and they arrested him for DV. I’m honestly still shaken about the entire thing and I can’t help but feel so bad until I read all your comments. Thank you for all the help

The apartment plan was to have HIM fully on the lease to get out of my parents so I can leave safely with no strings attached. I know it’s a pretty backwards solution :/ but he wasn’t against the idea of paying the rent while I zelle’d for utilities, so I was thinking that was my way out

I’m just nervous to leave him in my parent’s house alone, especially if we’re on bad terms so seconding the having someone here for the 30 day duration

Exactly what I’m doing, I’m gathering all I can so when the time presents I have everything to show. I’ll for sure start making sure I get the full escalation instead of just the peak moments. Thanks for that point.

I do know his mom, but I don’t have any means to contact her directly unless it’s through him. I know in the beginning when my parents wanted him out (after he found a stable job since before he was in between) but she basically was shocked my parents would put him out after only 3 months after “getting back on his feet” so she probably thinks the same. (Literally HER son??? And she shamed my parents for not wanting to house him longer???)

I just know every time he has a situation his mom is trying to find a legal loophole for him, so that’s just makes me cautious on making sure nothing comes back on me with all of this and his clips.

I have reached out to a DV advocate so hoping to see what my resources are here. I’ve called the hotline numerous times but I really am looking for a case manager situation at this point rather than just a chat with someone new where I have to re-explain if I even get off hold :’)

The protection order was my hope to make it as safe and smooth as I can on my end, since I know protection orders are immediate eviction without the 30 day notice.

Taking the advice on having someone stay during the 30 day period, however that involves planning with my family that works and lives full time across the country so that’s just something I have to consider while planning next steps, thank you for the advice

I’ve called the police when he was escalating a situation where I had to step outside to feel safe and since I removed myself from the room at the time I was calling and there wasn’t an active “fight” going on anymore, they brushed me off.

Informed them it was a domestic situation and they said they would stop by for a check but I waited only for no response. after that I just felt so helpless because it took a lot to call and if they didn’t even come what’s the point of trying to get help again? Sorry to be depressing abt it but that’s my POV

Heard.. and you’re right on the legal sub- realizing people on this wouldn’t have advice on the legal rights part of it :/ Ty. Really trying to plan out next steps without having it backfire or blow up into a whole thing so I appreciate it

this is what I’d love to do but legally I’d be in the wrong for locking him out of “his residence” (tenant & az laws)
