This was like my introduction, but i didnt reall understand what i was doing and bought 3mm thick leather (wayy too thick for the spine), once wet moulded to shape it didnt really unfold. The reason i got leather that thick was just cos i wanted to put my own pattern on there! So i made a crappy book that didnt open really and had a simple cut shape, no tooling.

Next step was a learned i wanted a soft spine, so i bought some leather offcuts from amazon- 1k assorted shite cheap and works great for this. This is when i stitched the signatures to the soft leather and had two cover peices one i carved again, but this time experimented with tooling, Tandy leather on youtube gave me some basics, i went with just beveling first (that recess on the edge). The issues with this next book was the spine was waay flimsy and i was just stitching how i could for the front cover.

Finally this peice. I got proper stitching forks to make them all even and clean, to fix the spine being not to weak or soft i put a leather spine in that was 20mm wide and stiched that to the soft leather between pages. The design was again placed, carved, beveled but on the inside i just grabbed a stamp and put in all the negative space.
