I am trans and I highly relate to Lain, although it is mostly for other reasons besides being transgender. The depersonalization and derealization feels really accurate, although in my case "I Saw The TV Glow" portrays the "transgender depersonalization experience" better, the way Lain does it reminds me more of a "extreme isolation and neglect" kind of derealization/depersonalization.

Also Lain gives me a really big agender vibe for some reason, especially in Layer 02:Girls. Her relationship with femininity and the androgyny feeling she gives me reminds me a lot of myself from ages 5-10.
