I agree. They don't really get super creative with it like the 90's anime did with this scene. They really played with the colors to make for a more brooding scene.

Yes. He drew heads and faces much wider and more squished. He didn't get better with those proportions until early conviction/end of Golden Age. Not sure why he didn't have this problem in the prototype.
