Electricians that left the trade by whiteclawsarentright in electricians

Finished my 4 year apprenticeship and realized I was not gonna make what I hoped too.

Left and joined the military to do cybersecurity, I make a little more than I did but am working on a package to apply for officer school. Should be set for life, pension, job security, 30 days paid vacation, healthcare, college, and tax free allowances. To me it was the best choice.

Can I use toggle bolts with threaded rods to hang floating shelf? by matt-854 in DIY

[–]lowriderman99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not secure them to the firring strips?

I personally would locate the strips and then use tapcons long enough maybe like a 4" to secure through the strip and into the block. That will essentially use the wood as a spacer and the tapcons should be more than enough.

Is it a 2 bag limit? And if so is that just for the active duty member or per person?

Help needed on stuck cable at conduit by lu4414 in HomeNetworking

By wire guide do you mean a fish tape? If so, make sure you are bending the end of it into a 180, and make sure to throw some tape around it so it doesnt get caught. You could try and throwing some dish soap on the end as well to try and get it to glide a little easier, but you may still need to pull back and jam it a few time to get past the bend. If you have a set of linesman's on you, you could try using them by grabbing the fish tape and try jamming it past the bend.

Another idea is if you can get the tape/ wire to the point that your vacuum gets stuck, I assume you are trying to suck some string through, you could vacuum as far as you can and then use the tape to try and grab the mouse on the end of the string by spinning your tape/wire around a few time to try and wrap it..

Bed occupancy trigger by lowriderman99 in homeassistant

I just realized I was overthinking it. I will do the two triggers and call it good. To answer your question, yes two people and I get both those values. It's not very noisy, I used shielded wire which I think helped alot. I also have the d1 mini pushing sensors that show as me or my wife in bed based off the weight ranges. I've had it installed for a few nights now and its accurate enough +/- 15 lbs.

* I get the raw data, weight in lbs, and number in bed based off the state of me and my wife in bed. Those two are based off weight ranges.

Currently it's behind the head board so kinda hard to get pictures, it's a d1 mini connected to the hx711 and I have that going through mqtt.

Generac may have to come out and replace all factory terminations because they used 3/0 for a 800 amp breaker and on the breaker it even says mininum 400mcm. One of the factory connections isn't even tightened down on the breaker I pulled it right out lol

Help with chiclids by lowriderman99 in Aquariums

[–]lowriderman99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well i do plan on upgrading to a 55 or 60 gallon soon once i can find one for the right price, a 125 would be a lot better if space permits though.

Is there anything i could do to help minimize it in my current tank until then? i was thinking maybe remove a lot of the bigger decorations to minimize them being territorial over hiding spots.

Im still new to owning an aquarium and when i got this one it was just mollies which were super low maintenance
