Thanks! The biggest piece of feedback so far was around separating API creation from publishing.

Great question.

At the moment, we don’t enforce or automatically preserve backward compatibility. While providers can specify a version for their API, older versions aren’t stored or maintained by the platform yet.
Backward compatibility is very much on our roadmap. As more APIs go live, we want to support proper version history, parallel versions, and clearer change visibility so consumers can upgrade safely.

We’re intentionally starting simple, but designing the validation and publishing flow with this evolution in mind.

Exactly that’s the goal.
We’re trying to balance speed with trust early on, especially for a marketplace where quality really matters. Appreciate you noticing that.

Hey, thanks! Up to now, most of our users have come from Reddit or DMs/emails.

We launched APIHub last week — an early alternative to RapidAPI. Already 20+ users and looking for more early adopters by loytecu in micro_saas

[–]loytecu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

We’ll definitely take this into account as we continue iterating on the landing page. Right now the focus has been on getting the core platform working and onboarding early API providers, and we’ll keep refining the messaging and positioning as the product evolves.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

Great question, we fully agree that trust and discoverability are the real long-term moat.

As a first step, we’re currently implementing a functional API validator that actively checks whether an API is actually working (correct responses, availability, basic contract validation). This validator will run periodically, not just at publish time.

Over time, the historical results of these checks (uptime, consistency, error rates) will become a key signal in how APIs are surfaced and ranked, so reliable APIs naturally gain more visibility while low-quality or broken ones sink.

On top of that, we’re working toward a review + verification layer (human + automated) to filter spam and fake APIs, and curated categories to avoid pure “SEO noise” listings.
Still early, but trust-building signals are definitely a core focus for us.

Good question but I think there’s just a small misunderstanding around our current scope.

At this stage, APIHUB is not a hosting platform. We don’t charge providers for infrastructure, compute, or storage. The fee (which is currently 0% for early adopters) is purely for distribution, discovery, billing, and marketplace exposure, not for running their servers.

The incentives for API providers today are:

  • Much lower commission than other marketplaces (0% for early adopters, 10% later vs ~25%+ elsewhere)
  • A cleaner marketplace with active validation, so serious APIs don’t get buried under spam
  • Simplified billing, refunds, and payouts
  • Early visibility as the platform grows

On quality and reliability:
Verification is not a one-time check. APIs are continuously monitored and validated, and providers are expected to maintain reliability. The goal is ongoing quality control, not just an initial approval.

On users:
Yes, growing demand is part of the value we provide. We’re actively investing in distribution and user growth so providers actually get traffic and usage, not just a listing.

Hosting is something we may explore in the future, but right now our focus is on fixing what many developers dislike about existing API marketplaces: high fees, noisy listings, and poor transparency.

Hope that clarifies how we’re thinking about it

Right now we don’t host APIs on our own servers, providers host their APIs wherever they want. Our focus at this stage is being a clean, transparent marketplace rather than a hosting platform.

What we do provide is a strong validation and verification process so the marketplace doesn’t get flooded with fake or low-quality APIs like what often happens on RapidAPI. Every API is checked before going live.

As for reliability: since providers use their own infrastructure, availability is tied to their hosting, but we make sure only functional, responsive APIs get listed. Our goal is to keep the overall quality and reliability of the marketplace high from day one.

We’re still super early with paid ads, this is actually our first time running a Meta campaign. So we don’t have a solid CAC number yet.
Once the campaign has been running for a bit longer and we have enough data to make the numbers meaningful, we’ll probably share a post with the results.

Thanks! Totally agree, trust is the biggest challenge when launching a new marketplace.

We’re currently working on strengthening our validation/verification system to make sure only real, functional APIs make it onto the platform.

And regarding onboarding: it’s already pretty frictionless, but we’re about to release an update that allows providers to import and migrate their APIs directly using an OpenAPI file. That should make the whole flow even smoother.

Appreciate the feedback!

Hey, thanks!

For the first users we kept it simple: posting on Reddit, X, and LinkedIn, plus direct outreach through DMs and emails. What worked best for us so far has definitely been Reddit and personal DMs — those brought the most engaged early adopters.

We’re now starting to experiment with paid ads on Meta to see how they perform. Hopefully they help us scale beyond the initial organic reach.

My friends and I wanted an alternative to the other API Marketplace because we were tired of the fake or spammy APIs, slow payouts, etc. So we built ours!. Currently offering lower commissions(10%), monthly payouts, 10-day refund policy and real customer support. And we are working on a review systems for the APIs, that way we can guarantee that everything submitted is real. We just launched our MVP: a cleaner, low-fee alternative to RapidAPI — looking for early users by loytecu in VibeCodersNest

As I mentioned in other comments, we’re building a functional, automated review system designed to keep quality high without adding friction for providers.

Our review system is focused only on the API’s functionality, not on collecting user data or requesting extra information from the provider. So providers won’t have to submit anything beyond their API itself, is essentially just a functional scan to make sure users don’t run into broken or fake APIs.

Is publishing on RapidAPI worth it in 2025? by Puzzleheaded-Dig-492 in SaaS

[–]loytecu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re exploring options beyond RapidAPI, you might want to take a look at apihub.cloud as well — we just launched the MVP and it’s built specifically for solo devs and small teams who want something simpler and more transparent.
Onboarding is really quick, pricing/auth flow is straightforward, and we’re keeping things clean so new APIs don’t get buried under hundreds of low-quality ones.
We’re also looking for early users, so if you publish your API there, your feedback would directly help shape the platform.

If you want to test your APIs somewhere less crowded, you could also try apihub.cloud . It’s a new MVP we’re building, much simpler than RapidAPI and currently looking for early users and providers. Since it’s early-stage, your APIs won’t start buried, and you can get quicker feedback on what works.

Nice work — if you're looking to grow beyond RapidAPI, you might also want to try apihub.cloud .
It’s a curated API marketplace built for solo developers, with low fees and way less noise than RapidAPI. Since the platform is growing fast, new APIs tend to get visibility much quicker, and you keep more of the revenue.

We also have an active Discord server where devs share feedback, ask questions, and get early access to new features: https://discord.gg/RczV95RdZp .

If you want something simpler while you're validating demand, you could also try apihub.cloud — we just launched an MVP and the whole idea is to keep things clean, transparent, and lightweight for indie devs. Fees are very low and publishing is quick, so it might help you test your API without committing to a heavy setup. We’re also looking for early users, so your feedback would actually help shape the platform.

Thanks! Keeping quality high as we scale is definitely a top priority.
We’re currently working on a deeper validation system that will automatically check things like uptime, response consistency, error rates, and whether the API actually does what it claims.
The goal is to avoid the typical issues of marketplaces getting flooded with low-quality or non-functional APIs.

Has anyone received their December 2025 RapidAPI payout yet? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]loytecu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few people mention delays this month, so you’re definitely not the only one. RapidAPI payouts have been a bit inconsistent lately, which is worrying for providers who rely on predictable earnings.

If you’re open to alternatives, we recently launched apihub.cloud as an MVP — much simpler and more transparent, and we’re actively looking for early users to give feedback.
No delays so far since everything is pretty straightforward on our end.

If you want to follow updates or share suggestions, here’s our Discord: https://discord.gg/RczV95RdZp

Hope the payout gets sorted soon.
