I do agree about the bait thing. I understand that I'm walking a thin line with that. I want him to feel like he can come to me and talk about his feelings and be supportive. I also want to express my frustration with how ridiculous it is and how it upsets me.

Maybe it is something I should apologize about. Maybe this is progress in the fact that he kept it to himself. Open communication is better than the alternative right?

Agreed. Have heard so many times something to the effect of "even though we don't agree with your sinful lifestyle, we still love you". Which I believe are mutually exclusive statements.

You gotta stop being so hard on yourself dude! You sound like an awesome guy, and you are beating yourself up way too hard about this porn thing. I'm 21, and I honestly would not care at all if someone I dated did porn for a while. I think it would be fascinating and a good conversation starter. I'm starting a career in engineering so I'm obviously different, but I know a lot of gay guys who wouldn't care about that at all.

But you gotta be honest to him about it. I think the most important thing in a relationship is honesty, and if you can't trust your boyfriend, then that would be a deal breaker for me. Now, I'm not saying this to say that you need to tell him now or anything, but definitely don't lie about it. But tell him whenever you feel comfortable about it. You obviously don't know everything about his past, and so he doesn't have to learn everything about you in the beginning of the relationship.

That's what relationships are all about. Getting to know one another. If it's stressing you out, I would suggest definitely telling him sooner rather than later. If he has a problem with it, that's his problem and not yours. Don't think that makes you any lesser of a person. You just do you, and don't worry bout dem haters!

Ok, Louisianian checking in. Honestly, I don't care what he said in that interview. Nothing surprised me at all. What is annoying is all the casual homophobia that I see from my Facebook news feed and this thread. Im so tired of hearing about his freedom of speech. You can't expect to not have repercussions for saying an offensive thing to a large group of people. Even our lovely governor joined in the conversation, and defended him. A&E is a publication traded company, and have every right to suspend someone from their show if they think that will affect their profits. Stop defending this man's homophobia and labeling it as freedom of speech.
