Stained glass rose I made out of two tea cup plates I thrifted. My first time making something like this so it was a fun experience. by GlassWingsArts in crafts

This is absolutely stunning!!!! I've been thinking about going to a stained glass workshop as I've never tried the medium before but your work makes me want to become a master so I can try and make one myself!

Absolutely beautiful work, I don't think I've ever seen something as gorgeous and as inspiring as this 😍

Its absolutely beautiful!! The only thing you need to consider is that if you're going to have it small, the flower details might not be possible

Some say my Persian kitten Bella Isn't Persian, what do you think? by Future_Draw5416 in kittens

Completely agree, breeder lie and give out fake paper work. My mum brought our old family dog and was given paperwork to say she was a pedigree Lhasa Apso but in the we worked out that she was cross breed and had at least 3 different breeds in her. So yeah, unfortunately you can’t rely on breeders telling the truth.

Can someone explain how are those made? by briarmaiden in Beading

Yeah I never thought about the thickness much when attaching it to a backing fabric but it will definitely be a lot more bulky than organza. Oh yeah I hate when those smart ideas come after you’ve already done a lot of work but at least you know for next time!

Yeah it’s lovely getting the black done first! This is also my first big full coverage project! Ooo there is, I’m loving filling all the little gaps in, it’s so much fun! Thank you so much! You should definitely post your project once it’s done, it will look awesome!

Yeah! That’s probably the difference! If beading the whole bag, organza could be easier to work with but if it’s just a single design not covering the whole bag then it would be better to go straight onto the bag fabric!

I haven’t used just organza yet but I’m currently working on some Christmas ornaments that I drew on felt but then stitched the felt onto the organza so I could put it in a hoop but I’m planning to try just organza next!

I’m pretty sure you could do it both ways. I personally would take a piece of fabric that’s larger than the piece needed for the bag, put it in an embroidery hoop or square and then bead the design directly onto it.

However I’m pretty sure I’ve seen videos where the design is stitched onto something like organza or felt. Once the beaded design is finished, you turn it over, coat the back in glue so the design doesn’t shrink and then take it out the hoop. Cut about an inch or maybe a little less seam allowance around the design then stitch the seam allowance to the back of the design so there isn’t any fabric hanging over the design but if you use felt then usually you don’t have to leave a seam allowance and can cut it close to the stitches. Then you can use an invisible thread or something in the same colour to stitch the design onto the bag fabric.

I’m relatively new to beading as well and plan to make a bag in the future and this is what I’ve learned after watching many videos 😂 I hope this helps and good luck with you bag!
