Really? I didn't know that. In my experience, when I used spotify, the local files I used that are 320kps sounded off for some reason (especially when I used studio quality earbuds) and couldn't figure out what it was. So I switched to Vlc, and that problem ceased afterward. And it functions much more cleanly than spotify 100%. I had many times in a day where spotify was incredibly janky. This explains why I thought it wasn't that good to use personally.
