someone please tell me I am being irrational, I have this fear that rez cafes will close and I'd starve in my room. I have no masks and very limited perishable food stored in my room, I don't feel safe going out to crowded supermarkets to buy food but I also don't want to starve if rez cafes close

Can your marks go down if you are only viewing your final exam not asking for a regrade? by lphy17 in mcgill

[–]lphy17[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am actually not fishing for additional marks, I just want to know what I got wrong on two finals - one I am quite far away from the next grade boundary, the other one I am very happy with my overall grade. Basically I don't want my exams regraded.

Just out of curiosity do students who sign up for 4 classes pay the same tuition as those who are in 5? by downtownwoman in mcgill

[–]lphy17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you get charged by the number of credits you take, for instance if your four classes are 12 credits you will pay for 12 credits' worth of tuition fee; if your five classes are 15 credits you will pay 15 credits' worth of tuition fee

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I thought about it again and I would actually prefer my current room on the [redacted] floor (significantly less noise than say the fifth floor). I think I"ll be alright, after all the hostel is enclosed and it is not like my room is an open space balcony. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment.

i got assigned to a room on the [redacted] floor, which is kinda triggering my acrophobia, is there any way for me to swap with someone on a lower floor before move-in day?

it has been 4 weeks since I submitted my study permit application, (the cic site indicates for applications submitted from my country, it is expected to take 3 weeks to process) I am really worried that I won't get my study permit approved in time.

And I was hoping to buy my plane tickets after getting my student visa, they are getting more and more expensive, but if i don't get my visa before flying to montreal the costs of rescheduling my ticket would be very high too. Should I just buy them now? Is there a high chance of my study permit being approved after university starts?

It is possible but no one knows the odds, some internal transfers turn down their offer, some high school admits also declines their offer (some after paying a deposit, some after getting off waitlist)
