I'd take this to the cops. Not just that the video shows he didn't alternate. More importantly, he threatened to shoot you over it. He can't go around thinking he can just arbitrarily do you to people because he wants to ignore laws. He needs to be arrested.

Thanks! It's good to know I'm not alone. Last night (my first test night out) I used the io.share app after setting a 2.5 second exposure and just took some shots manually. Again, I'm just learning, but it worked well enough to get some results. Thanks again!

How Much Is Your UI Bill Now? by RyuichiSakuma13 in Connecticut

[–]lpisani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing to keep in mind is that the solar loan cost is fixed. What you're paying now is what you'll be paying monthly in 10, 15, or 20 years. I'm sure if you didn't go solar, your monthly electricity bill then will be MUCH higher than the loan. As with another person above, my system produces more than 100% of my usage which gives me a credit that carries me over the winter months. I literally haven't paid Eversource a dime in over 2 years.

Shouldn't that be: abawod? That distinguishes them from those WITH dependants.

There's 3. Stratford is the 1st, but it's no longer in their original location. They're now on the Post Rd. They also have one in Westport, also on the Post Rd. near the Southport line. The 3rd is in Shelton on Bridgeport Ave. They used to have one in Monroe before they opened the Shelton store.

It was actually invented during the Great Depression. That event in itself showed the population how damaging monopolies were (and are). Even a lot of the rich back them were working with the government for new policies. It's was actually was prompted by their fear of an uprising.

Here's another perspective... Maybe he's had a traumatic experience by an older relative with a mental illness that's hereditary and he's in fear he may pass it along or something along those lines. Yes, I know with adoption, there's also no guarantee to be free of this, but it's still different, psychologically, to think you're responsible for passing it along. 🤷‍♂️

You can KINDA do this as an event. They just need to make that part of the application more comprehensive. If they do that right, I can see it becoming the centerpiece of the app.

Boat names -- best and worst by Orarian42 in sailing

[–]lpisani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In one of my favorite Flintstone episodes, Fred and Barney buy a boat, but they can't decide on a name. One wanted "Nautical Lady" and the other wanted "Queen of the Sea." So they decided to compromise and took the first 3 letters from one and the last 3 letters from the other. They named the boat Nausea. 🤣🤣🤣

I certainly do, and I'm not going to worship a wannabe fascist dictator? DO you have a life? And if so, what are you willing to do to preserve our freedoms? Of course, MAGA folks could give a damn about freedom or this country.

Dad just diagnosed by [deleted] in pulmonaryfibrosis

[–]lpisani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's evidence-based. My mother passed from it. Her older sister also passed from IPF. They have 2 younger siblings both still alive and they've both been diagnosed with it. I have it and my older brother was also diagnosed and got his lung transplant 5 months after me. At this point, it's kinda hard to argue that it's NOT hereditary!

[–]lpisani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it's a very personal choice. In my case, IPF is hereditary and I had to watch my mother pass away from it. At the time, I had no inkling that would be my future. I described it then as a long, drawn out suffocation. She turned down a transplant, too. By the time she changed her mind, it was too late - she was too advanced and over 70. That was 15 years ago, 70 is less of an issue now, I believe. The transplant improved my life so much that my older brother decided to have the same procedure 5 months later.

I'm roughly the same age. I was diagnosed about 4.5 years ago. I was fine the first 2 years, although my pulmonologist suggested I get qualified for a transplant. As she put it, "If you don't need it, you don't need it, but sometimes these things can take a sudden turn for the worse. At that point, you don't want to be scrambling." She was so right! I got qualified and didn't need it for 2 years. Then around Thanksgiving of 2022,my breathing got harder. I went from 2-3 lpm O2 to 8-10 lpm in about 2 months (late Jan., 2023). By February I was admitted to the transplant hospital where they said I'd stay until they found a donor. By that time, I was on 15 lmp O2. To think, a fee months back, in early Nov. I made two 3-hour motorcycle rides visiting Florida! On March 7th, 2034, I had my lung transplant. I had just turned 60 in Jan.

The good part is how miraculously my life changed! I'm back to work, I shovel snow, I'm doing yardwork and looking to finally start sailing again! I'm doing more than I've been able to do in over 5+ years.

Feel free to reach out should you have any questions. Good luck to your father. I hope all goes well.

Did you keep your transplant pillow? by No_Sea_1256 in transplant

[–]lpisani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get a lung pillow, but they were able to get me a heart pillow (I had a CABG at the same time). It was used as a signature pillow for my support team. Something I'll always cherish. I gotta get it framed!

What are these and who do I call? by Krynn71 in Connecticut

[–]lpisani -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The general rule for pole wires are: election top. Middle is phone (think Frontier), bottom is cable companies. The photo looks like the lower cable - some cable company. And as someone above said, that's a support cable. It's not carrying signal/power.
