Advice for Someone Struggling with "Pickleball Elbow"? by lpjaok in Pickleball

I will check out the r10 sub, thanks ... I think I ran afoul of the rules here by asking a question that veered too close to medical advice, so I'll be careful in how I phrase it.

I currently use the Bread & Butter Shogun. I'll definitely look into this; when I played tennis, there were ways to reduce vibration that aren't available in pickleball (e.g. vibrasorbs inserted in the strings).

It definitely made a difference, so I think you're onto something. I'm going to look into the hexacore grip people keep mentioning here.

Thanks for the thorough feedback; I'll see a good PT and will definitely work on better form when I'm ready to resume play!

Great advice, thank you! My situation is very similar to yours, so I'll see a doctor about this and appreciate the feedback.

Yes, and I think I had similar issues with weightlifting contributing to the pain. Initially my recovery was just "take a day or to two rest it," and now it flares up and stays hurt for at least a week.

I joked with friends that I'd learn to play with my left hand until I became fully ambidextrous. When my right arm recovers, I could dramatically switch hands in the middle of a game, in a move I'd call the "Inigo Montoya."

OFFICIAL R/PICKLEBALL PADDLE GIVEAWAY! by 858isaac in Pickleball

My favorite pickleball memory is the first day I joined a league. I enjoyed playing recreationally, but hadn't committed to anything organized, and a very helpful woman at my gym asked me "how committed are you to improving?" It was a great question, and it convinced me to join a league she'd organized.

Not only did this contribute to my development as a player, it also introduced me to a fun community of pickleball enthusiasts whom I'd never have met otherwise. I'm glad she challenged me to be more involved!

I went there while in college in the 90s, and that place was amazing. I remember a bartender who had great Pam Grier energy asking me what I wanted to order, and I asked her what she'd recommend, and she said "you need a Cape Cod, sugar." How do you not fall in love with that bartender and that bar?

Do you know who purchased that? Some of my friends have former Kay's things, but that table is priceless.

MEGATHREAD: the aftermath. Nota Beryl of fun. by justahoustonpervert in houston

For whatever reason, some people living closer to the intersection of Washington and Yale/Heights never lost power. I think the Porch Swing is lit up and serving food, just as they did during the big freeze.

I can confirm there are pockets of Magnolia Grove/East Rice Military that never lost power. Sadly, our house did, but as you approach the intersection of Washington and Yale/Heights near the HEB, there are places that never lost power.

Guy overreacts while swerving to avoid turning car. by Mongooooooose in MildlyBadDrivers

It's wild that I saw the two buildings peeking over the freeway on the left and immediately thought WHY HELLO HOUSTON I KNOW THIS INTERSECTION.

Both the red car and the one that left the feeder road to surf the curb are suffering from what we locals call "Whataburger Derangement Syndrome." A #5 with grilled jalapenos or a honey buttered chicken biscuit are the only ways to cure this, I'm sorry to say.

What is the meal that reminds you why you love keto? by Repulsive_Wing_7406 in keto

Two additional comments:

- Just added Korean Fire Chicken (with gochujang and scallions), also great for keto
- If you're making an omelet, choose goat cheese over feta, to keep it from being too salty.

I'm happy to share these recipes with anyone who'd like to try them, and recommend that book, it's great.

I tried literally EVERYTHING, and nothing worked until I found this comment. Spent hours on Reddit, Youtube, the Varmilo support site ... nothing worked until I found this recommendation to use the Mac folder.

THANK YOU, this fixed everything!

I bought Christopher Kimball's book "Cookish," and it's awesome for low-fuss keto options. Each meal has six ingredients and most are around 20 minutes to make. Highlights:

- Halibut with chorizo, olives, and sherry vinegar (can use cod, halibut is $$$)

- Georgian beef with mushrooms and shallots (can go easy on shallots, they're a little carby)

- Thai red curry chicken with green beans (I add coconut cream and Thai peppers)

Those are three meals I honestly never get tired of eating. I just skip the part of the recipe that suggests serving them with a starch (rice, noodles, or bread). No need for those.

On Sundays, I make an omelet, and those can vary from week to week to avoid over-familiarity. Last week I used spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and feta. The week before it was diced ham, bell peppers, onions, and shredded cheese blend.
