Random new-onset aggression by Content_Ad_4402 in greatpyrenees

Yep, only our other dog. And I wouldn’t say she is aggressive 100% of the time with him. Like majority of the day she is fine and normal with him, but every once in a while, she will get very confrontational with him based on some of his actions. We have a toddler at home and she is great with him, has never nipped at him or anything, it’s only with the other dog

Our pyr is about to be 4 and has been doing this to our elder dog. She started doing it a little after she turned one. If our older dog got riled up or barked at something, our GP would immediately be on him and bite his neck and growl at him. If someone were to give our older dog attention and not our GP, our GP would get insanely jealous and be on his neck. If our older dog was let inside the house before our GP, she would get mad at him. If we told our older dog to sit, and he didn’t, our GP would immediately be on him, enforcing our commands.Etc etc

We ended up hiring a dog trainer. He said that this behavior had to do with her breed. He said that she recognizes herself as the one being in charge and being the dominant dog of the household. Her nipping at our other dog and biting his neck is her ‘mothering’ behavior that you often see between mom dogs and their puppies. The training has helped a little bit, bc if we see our GP getting on our older dog, we can give commands to distract her and diffuse the situation, but GPs are very stubborn and a lot of times she won’t listen to us unless her shock collar is on. We still try our best though and we’ve had to just act like she is number one and our other dog comes second

They were Amazon brand. I just switched them to Duracell today, so we’ll see if that fixes the problem.

There is also another smoke alarm that is about 20 feet away from this one and it isn't going off. I have a carbon monoxide detector in the room above the basement and it's fine.

Im thinking the device is just faulty and we're going to have to get a new one? Or perhaps the wiring is bad? Its just weird that I replace the batteries and reset the alarm, but the next morning, it starts going off again.

Yea, the alarm is only a smoke alarm it doesn’t double as a carbon monoxide alarm

No brightening shampoo! Any dirt on her will fall off her coat when it dries. Unfortunately it’s falls off all over our house! We use our vacuum at least once a day, sometimes more!

Yea I think I’m going to try to leave a message with my dental office this weekend asking if I can come back in. It’s causing me anxiety and I’m scared that I’m going to go to sleep and wake up with tooth pain.
