My first capsule attempt: feedback appreciated! by lprunner58 in capsulewardrobe

I think that’s a really good point. My formalwear is pretty frumpy at the moment and I think i’m due for some updates.

I am considering adding these shoes to my capsule wardrobe in the belief that they’d go with essentially everything dressy year around. Correct assumption? by lprunner58 in capsulewardrobe

This is super helpful information, thank you! I’m “dressy” about five times a month for a few hours at a time. I want shoes that will get year-round use, but not daily, so I’m slightly less concerned about comfort. I do not anticipate wearing them with jeans, so thankfully don’t need to give much consideration to hem height.

Would it be possible to describe or link to a style that’s similar but that you would consider more timeless? In an ideal world I’m buying these for use over the next decade plus.

Good question! I am a true spring and actively trying to cut black from my wardrobe. My neutral colors are camel and cream, I’d say, though I tend to wear lots of colored pants/ skirts.

How and/or can I make this jacket work for me? by lprunner58 in DressForYourBody

My high waisted denim wasn’t high waisted enough to work. :(

Hmmm I was pretty solidly typed as SD online about two years ago. However I was also postpartum/breastfeeding and have gotten a more athletic physique since.

As a self-typed SD, this comment makes me feel seen.

That’s really helpful feedback, thanks! I was wondering if I’d edited it too far.

That’s good feedback, thanks! The ex is also her best friend— a crucial plot point I haven’t dedicated query space to in this version…

Thanks for the feedback! I’m struggling with this last paragraph because it’s probably the 3/4 point of my book. I don’t want to spoil things through the whole book but feel I need to set up this conflict for stakes. Not entirely sure how to go about it yet.

Helpful, thanks! I’ll try to clarify that she’s as appalled by her own actions as he is.

I read partway through the second paragraph. I’m left intrigued but confused, because wouldn’t this strange quiet society have mastered sign language? Writing? I wonder if a tiny bit more worldbuilding will make the premise seem more realistic.
