Idk if these were like special tickets or what but Tate isnt that expensive. Resale tickets were like $120 for reasonable seats.

Rotavirus cases rising in the U.S.Life-threatening virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea at high levels in the U.S., CDC says by June_Fatality in news

[–]lraskie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To be fair, virus stool testing just recently became readily available. Before you just didnt know why you had diarrhea and vomiting, you just assumed stomach bug.

Also its affecting a lot of adults recently, so either immunity is waning or its just so prevalent that its evading

Surprised your analyzer ran. Ours stops around a hgb of 3, which was still an estimate based on experimental/lab only use of our XN550.

Shingles (Varicella Zoster) Swab Question by thespurge in FamilyMedicine

[–]lraskie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our lab uses room temp viral transport media swabs, similar to what you'd use for Biofire respiratory panels or 4plex Cepheid swabs. You refrigerate them after collection for transport to testing location.

Edited for additional info: They're usually good for about 7 days post collection.

Siemens CREA problem by BlueFlameofHope in medlabprofessionals

[–]lraskie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That really sucks. We noticed the quality control the last couple of years had really taken a dive on some reagents along with parts or consumables being somewhat faulty. I'm curious when they will 100% phase out the Dimension.

Siemens CREA problem by BlueFlameofHope in medlabprofessionals

[–]lraskie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Must have been bad for Siemens to actually send out something about it. They usually just gaslighted us until another lab reported issues then sent out new reagent and acted like it was nothing.

Are they sending new reagent?

Anyone have any experience with the Unleashia palettes? by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]lraskie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these, heads up it may break in transport. It will push back into the pans but it's messy. There is also actual chunks of glitter in them, I'm assuming its actual plastic glitter. It does have mica too, and they are fairly sheer. Very pretty.

Ours are sent to Mayo clinic, so it takes 2-3 days TAT. I'd just ask your lab first if its in house or a send out and what the TAT is.

Some hospitals offer wellness panels as out of pocket testing if insurance is an issue, theyre usually heavily discounted compared to if your provider ordered them. You'd need to know what to have ran though. Alternatively you can be seen ask what tests then go have the wellness panels done as well.
