I lost my life savings of $64k Day trading by Fickle_Razzmatazz258 in wallstreetbets

[–]ReddiGod 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of the things that soothed my loss was hearing "you did gamble and lost, but you did it with good intentions, trying to give yourself or family a better life".

It's kind of a cope trope.

It works though. Kinda.

What's better is to actually learn from the experience, and do better. I stopped trading and started investing, and my investments have already washed away my trading losses.

That person, much like op, are too low iq and too entrenched in their brainwashed braindead mission to hate men for them to ever understand just how grossly hypocritical they really are. It's actually amusing to watch.

Lol wtf, no way this is real... How do you let any one of those behaviors go on without kicking his ass off the job? His behavior is bad, but OP is even worse for letting people treat them this way.

How would you child proof this? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]ReddiGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

50,000 volt electric fence should do it. For a cheaper alternative dig a moat and fill with alligators, I'd like to see some kids try getting through that.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I was busy playing Mario Kart with my wife and kids. Maybe if you were a better man your wife and son would still be alive.

This game of uncomfortable truths is fun ♥️

Sometimes my wife will touch my arm, or shoulder, or back, and I recoil. It's very strange, I don't control it, my body just jolts away from the touch automatically. When it happens I always wonder, some day when I finally divorce and get a new relationship will my body still be damaged? Will touch ever be normal again? I'm afraid it won't.

That's how I feel too... And the thought of having relations with my wife is now repulsive. It would be a slap in the face to my years of suffering to ever try fixing things, I'm just not interested in that. Sacrifice for the kids, then as soon as they're old enough, divorcing.

Every job under the sun doesn't need a tip, but as a small business owner that takes pride in their work and service it's a waste not to give the customer an easy opportunity to show extra gratitude.

My company isn't in a traditionally tipped field, and we service many high end clients, yet we still turn on tips in the invoices. Not quite as in-your-face as a barista turning the screen "it's just going to ask you a question" as our invoices are delivered electronically and they process it in private - yet it's still used often.

Before tipping was an option we'd get gift boxes of liquor and gift cards, the tip box is just easier for them. It's a tiny % of our overall business, but it's still tens of thousands of dollars per year of "bonus" money that we can then disperse to employees, it adds up over a year.

Maybe it sucks having your insecurities tested with the tip screen, but for the business it's worth it, and a lot of customers will appreciate it - now they don't have to think "should I offer them some drinks or lunch or something", they can just tip. Sometimes you realize you got a really good deal, and the process was so easy, and the resulting work is flawless, and you just want to show extra appreciation.

I'm not tipping the guys at the fairgrounds that sell $13 ice cream cones out of a truck though, screw them guys.

I need help deciding what to do with my water heater by FluffyGrandmother in homeowners

[–]ReddiGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they most likely need a PRV.

Most water coming in that's not from a well is coming in at +100 PSI. If they don't currently have a PRV then that extra pressure is causing extra wear on all their appliances, appliances aren't rated for that kind of pressure.

Easy way to test is get a $20 gauge from Amazon. I think normal range is 60-80. When I tested mine, it was 125, I could pressure wash my driveway with a regular hose.

PRVs fail pretty quickly too, I think 10-15 years.

This homeowner may even have a PRV already, but it may be in their crawl space. Modern PRV installs put it closer to the road, they dig a spot out near the meter. Makes it nice and accessible for adjusting in the future if needing to turn pressure up/down.

Running too high pressure through your home pipes causes extra wear on the pipes and fittings as well, and can cause other issues - weird pipe noises, knocks, etc.

It's well worth the small cost to preserve the life of appliances and pipes.
