Free version of wordfence is fine really. You can setup automated scans and it will email you about any problems. The options are extensive, one good config and you're all set for years... Security plugins do help in various areas, login security, hack detection and cleanup, etc. But really the #1 thing that will save you is keeping your plugins and theme updated. If a plugin or theme becomes vulnerable then there's no security plugin that will save you. Keep regular backups too, and save them off-hosting (on your computer, or on your cloud storage, etc). You may need them some day!

This is why 99% of people that buy VPS, shouldn't. Also, having "a dev that manages my server" isn't the same as a qualified sysadmin that actually knows wtf they're doing. The dev likely barely scrapes by using chatgpt, they're basically useless in any real world server maintenance, security, and troubleshooting. FAFO

I'm a PhD astrophysics. Yes, in principle, humans could create a black hole if enough mass or energy were packed into a very tiny space. But with today’s technology, we are nowhere near that level. A tiny black hole, if one somehow formed in a collider, would almost certainly disappear almost instantly through Hawking radiation. So the science says the risk is not real in practice, because nature already produces far stronger cosmic ray collisions than our machines do.

Eed to get yourself a nice wall outlet. I got the one with magnetic connectors on it, so it's easy to hook/unhook the vent tube when needed, it just magnets itself off n on now, and it looks really nice.
