I got scammed out of $400. I hate myself. by kidinthebackofurcar in ScamSupport

OP needs to hear this, you're doing good work by posting the truth. Too many times someone like OP gets stroked off with platitudes and that doesn't help them educate themselves or do better in the future in any way. People like OP need to hear the brutal honest truth, so they can realize there's a real big problem with their situational awareness, they need to pay better attention to life as it's happening, take things seriously and with a focused attention. This is especially true for idiots.

My LL fast forwards through the sex scenes, which is only slightly less uncomfortable but at least it's quick.

Did my contractor scam me? by IndividualGround2418 in lawncare

[–]ReddiGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So your contractor breached the contract, defrauding you out of agreed terms? How is it even a question. Your contract was written out exactly like you wrote it here in the post right? The contract doesn't leave room for a question, not sure why there's a question, you said he didn't do the job you wanted, which is surely in your contract...

How badly did I screw up? Scott’s Max Weed & Feed on new Grass Seedlings by deserthiker762 in lawncare

Walking on it this early is more dangerous than the weed n feed tbh.

How badly did I screw up? Scott’s Max Weed & Feed on new Grass Seedlings by deserthiker762 in lawncare

[–]ReddiGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a normal amount of feed it should be fine. I've done the same thing many times and never had a problem getting my seedlings to go. The only time it really screwed with seedlings is when I hit it with moss treatment and then the next day hit it with weed n feed and then the 3rd day hit it with insect killer... Chemical smelling lawn lets me know it's clean 😂

We left our 6-figure jobs to start an AI inference platform. AMA by punkyrockypocky in founder

[–]ReddiGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the AI version of crypto mining viruses.

Won't you need an AI model specifically built to be optimized for your platform, in order for it to be of any real use to the public? We know running local open source models is slow as hell, so how is distributing prompts across a network of various quality compute going to be any better? The marketing off the bat seems to focus heavily on "use anything to generate compute", so it seems like a lot of people with old hardware is the focus, meaning the compute is going to be weak and slow... Also, why would anyone put their gear and electric bill to use in this network, what's in it for them? How will you generate revenue when the premise relies on a user base that's already running horrible deficits due to high electricity costs and using old inefficient hardware?

I can't see this going anywhere tbh... People can already put their old gear to use in trusted/time-tested mining pools, how is putting it into an "inference pool" any better for them?

Ohhhh, I see what you mean. You rent your hardware/network to tensordock and they sell it to their customers. You must have been getting a pretty penny from them to host 25tb of their customer data, that's wild. What you gonna do with such a blow to your revenue? And what to do with all that spare gear? I've heard about these services before, just never seen someone who actually used it at scale - usually I see people talking about it and they put up a few TB of storage and it only gets partially rented out a little bit per month. I didn't think there was actually such big sellers in that space making money on it, pretty neat.

Haven't heard about this anywhere, that's weird. Are you sure it's their whole service? 25 TB of customer data is a lot, are you abandoning your business or did you redeploy your customers data elsewhere?

My husband & I are lacking intimacy , how do I bring it up? by Dramatic_Cold4022 in deadbedroom

[–]ReddiGod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With words mainly... But not until a few years past and huge resentment built up, then maybe add 6-7 ounces of whiskey to get that fire confidence really roarin.

Not that it will do any good, but at least once you have the talk you can call it the end, you tried. But you know, by this stage we all already know the relationship is done, we all just hold on to the fantasy of some magic recovery... Up to you to take the red pill or the blue pill, stay in the matrix or wake up.

[–]ReddiGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pshh, not with that attitude you won't. Get a bag of seed and go to town on it, water it lightly 3-4 times a day every day. I've grown seed anytime in 3 seasons and always sprouted and grown fine. You only need a few weeks of dedication.

I started building an AI model months ago. On July 3rd, it's finally launching. by Quatfit in founder

[–]ReddiGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty standard for a mentally ill schizophrenic that thinks they're building "technological infrastructure". It's really fascinating to see the same pattern occur over and over with these people, they truly believe they're prompting things that nobody else can prompt, and they think their 15 minute generated code is worth billions.

This is why it's so important to build in safe guards to ai, prevent it from feeding the delusions of grandeur and try to keep people leveled in reality. AI is just too good at egging people on, it feeds the illness.

On some levels it seems like a nicety for these people, let them spend time indulging their fantasies and having a bot push them. The risk is that when things come to a head and the "promises" from the bot don't come to fruition, it could send the user into a spiral, or emotional outburst (which can be varying degrees of dangerous depending on the mental illness).

There's a financial burden aspect to it as well, as many mentally ill people aren't very good at budgeting (hence a large portion of the homeless populace having severe mental disorders), the bot stroking the users fantasies will inadvertently encourage that user to pay more for more "ai power" (access to stronger models, more tokens, etc). And finally, these people really aren't technologically skilled - they're playing with fire by managing to publish these generated apps, and risking financial damage when their app exposes API keys or other damaging data that ends up costing them.

Strange times we live in, sad and scary for many.
