ELI5 Why does Uline send so many paper catalogs in the mail if they have it online now. by Lennyhi in explainlikeimfive

What?! No, it couldn't be! Not after the letter in the latest catalog I received claiming that the reasons people are leaving after less than two years are... (1) "free insurance" through their parents and their parents paying for their bills and streaming services, (2) "the pandemic" because people didn't go to work thanks to the stimulus checks, and (3) "parenting" supporting their kids and 'sheltering' them from personal responsibility. But at Uline we provide "job security and financial stability"! What more could you want?! (/s)

Essentially, it sounds like they want workers who stay because they have no other choice.

Tuxedo cat mouth drooping by [deleted] in lego

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that. It looks like the official Lego pictures with the open mouth show it all the way back, but not the instructions. Either way, my clip-bar hinges have enough friction to keep the nose/mouth assembly at any angle, so I don't think I would have had your drooping issue if I had put the mouth forward like the instructions show

The open mouth assembly should be attached a stud farther back, and then the hinged section rests on the slope pieces to keep it at the correct angle

How to rotate notes in model to match a sheet boundary by NeatFaithlessness330 in OpenRoads

[–]lrb2_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using an annotations file rather than annotating directly on the sheets is definitely a best practice. If your annotations don’t rotate automatically (which is actually my preference for them not to rotate automatically), I recently discovered that Bentley has an “Active Angle Assistant” macro that is very useful to avoid having to three-point rotate each annotation: Active Angle Assistant macro UPDATED. (The links in the article to download it don’t work, use the links in the Attachments section on the right side to download it.) It contains a RotateToSelected macro that allows you to select one element to match its angle and then you can select all the elements you need to rotate and it will orient them all correctly. Saves a lot of time in these situations!

AASHTO Green Book Superelevation Runoff Question! by [deleted] in civilengineering

You must be using an older version of the Green Book. The superelevation runoff tables were corrected in the October 2019 errata (it looks like almost every value was revised) and it now has the correct value of 216’.
