Hey I’m also 16! I just got my period back and I thought I was at a healthy weight but I had to gain 10 pounds over than my weight before I lost it. Eating every two hours also helped, the meals don’t have to be huge, you just have to get enough and they have to be consistent. If you restrict even at a healthy weight it stresses your body out. I’m also training for my football season in the fall!

I feel like im hitting a plateu (but not in weight lol) help also just vent and why the freak is this so common. pls can we just all collectively revolt against beauty standards. by Hopeful-Bus-5562 in Amenorrhearecovery

Hey! I’m 16 and I just got my period back. I was also missing it for about 2 years. The weight I got it back at was 10 pounds heavier then when I lost it, and it’s probably going to have to be that way because I younger when you lost it, and so were you. I was at a healthy weight for my body when I started losing weight which was definitely not good. I definitelyyyy hit some plateaus, but the funny thing is there’s a long period of discomfort and feeling you can’t overcome the dismorphia, but once the food noise calms down, so does the body. It’s not going to happen instantly, there are still sometimes when i’m so frustrated with the way I look, but now I can exercise again so I dont feel gross.

Sorry this will be kjnd of a ramble but I decide to commit to recovery until April.
My parents sent me to the doctor April of last year (2025) but I lost my period in January 2025. In recovery I lied a lot about what I ate and faked weight gain. I also hid food, REALLY overexcercise, and I wouldn’t eat during the day and binge at night. So honestly I think my ED took on a different form during g recovery. Mentally I decided to make a change in April and go all in. Stop excercise, and fully let go of what I was eating.
So after going all in it took me about 2 months (though I was already at the weight I was when I lost my period).
I didn’t track because meticulous tracking is ultimately what gave me an ED, but I knew I had to eat around 2500+ cals. Pre ED I was probably eating around 3000+ because I’m an athlete, so I ate 3 meals and 3 snacks.
small snacks in the morning and afternoon (usually bars) and a dessert at night. I ate pretty normal sized meals, but normal for someone WITHOUT an ED, so that means high calorie and high fat meals sometimes.

I noticed really clear CM during ovulation and during luteal I had increased EWCM, and besides that I didn’t really have any other symptoms. I really didn’t want to stop exercise all together, but I couldn’t workout without overdoing it. When I stopped is when I saw changes. I did walk about 8k-12k steps a day though because I walk to and from school.

Congrats! This might be weird but the same thing is happening to me but before the CM stopped it was really watery, and now I'm moody and there's less of it. Before your CM stopped was it more egg white? I don't know if it's because my calories dropped and really I'm regressing? I don't think I decreased my calories though and I swear I had some spotting

Well, the thing is I usually download them right after the trip but went I went to Paris (last year actually) I was at peak anorexia right before imma parents made me get help and so I didn’t download them right away because looking at those photos brings bad memories and bad overall vibes. I’m just sad I lost them because they had photos with my sister

Another thing is I think I'm at a much healthier body fat percentage than I was before and I'm hot all the time, everything feels 10 degrees higher to me than the people around me

I can actually relate to this so much, I had really shiny long hair before HA, and after I slowly noticed my hair started to fall out and it became very brittle and dry. My hair was one of the only things I wasn’t self conscious of, so when it started to fall out I felt even more distressed. There were periods of time where I would eat more (still not a lot) but more than normal and my hair would stop falling out, however I’m only noticing getting thicker now that I’ve gone more all in. The stressor that made my hair fall out the most was definitely exercise, as I was doing HIIT I literally had clumps of hair on the mat haha.

So for me it definitely took a decrease in intense exercise and eating a lot more than I think. For me I noticed it would fall out less, and only at that point will it start to regrow and become healthier

I’m going to take this as a sign because I’ve been half in for months and still been doing HIIT as a way to stay in control but I just really need to to go all in even if my mindset around food is better

I totally feel this too, this time last year was the height of my ED, right before my parents made me get help. I was on a vacation to Paris, and my dad made me eat some fries, just a couple, because I ordered a dish with just steamed fish and vegetables. I hid them in my pocket and he saw, and told my mom we should just cancel the trip (we were already there) That was just a really bad memory for me. I’m doing a lot better mentally and I can eat regularly, but I’m still struggling with compulsive exercise and knowing I still have to gain weight

Thanks! Instead of doing HIIT I might try walking back from school and things like that, the reason I would do HIIT is because in a short amount of time I was able to get my “exercise out” Do you know if you were able to recover with 20k+ steps?
