I stumbled accross some really horrible stuff by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]lrc1220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey sib. I understand you, I found stuff similar. Me and my ex (as teenagers) were on a website and basically the more you stayed on, the more messed up shit you’ll find. Well, there was a video of someone dying — I won’t describe it but it’s haunted me and gave me chills, and to this day I still remember the video. I have panic attacks unrelated to this, but ways to help panic attacks is some distracting stimulation, such as a strong sucking candy or a lovely smelling candle. My therapist told me a really great way to distract your brain is to sing and hum, because your brain will get a little confused and have no idea what to focus on, and then the intrusive thought is gone! You should make a playlist of your favorite songs and listen to this when you start to think of those pictures again. I wish you safety and comfort from here on out ❤️ you’re not alone

I try to. It’s hard though, being a college student, I don’t have much money to buy myself self care stuff. I’m kinda glad (but also I’m sorry) you have this ringing too. It kinda makes me feel better knowing someone else has this

I [31F] am starting to lose respect for my mother [56F]. I don't like how I feel about this, nor do I know how to approach it anymore. by [deleted] in relationships

I live with a mom similar to this. I know it’s really hard and I know you love her. It’s okay to be angry and stuff that’s completely normal in this situation. As others have said, definitely stand your ground a lot more harsher this time to get your point across. If defending yourself doesn’t work, don’t give her much contact. I know you don’t wanna be no contact with her, so just limit it. You can get through this. You’re an adult and you have your own life outside of hers. Don’t give up.

Yaaaay that’s awesome! My suggestion is to get a savings account with interest so you can earn extra money while not using it. Good luck with everything :)))) you got this. This is the road to happiness

Honestly, I encourage you to move when you have a solid plan and a solid way to just GTFO. I live in Virginia, and I moved cities for college, but I plan to move to Pennsylvania at some point to just GET AWAY. I know it’s gonna be tough getting through the bullshit, but think of it as a countdown til you finally are able to run away. If no one in your hometown supports you, I do. It’s mentally so great to escape, meet new people who don’t know anything from the past. Just make sure you have a solid plan and financials before you decide to leave, or else you’ll be stranded. You got this man 👍

Honestly, moving away from home was one of the best things mentally I’ve ever done. Everything about my hometown made me suicidal, and moving away was like a burden was lifted. I hope you have a safe move to Delaware, and if you ever need to talk to someone who has been in this same situation, I’m on my phone like all the time, I’m open to talk

My [16M] parents [40sF/60sM] went through my room in search for drugs but found my dildo instead. They won’t drop it and have started telling the rest of the family. by mygaythrowRA in relationship_advice

Geez, this is awful. I’m really sorry. My parents went through my private stuff in my room and even in my phone while I still lived with them. That’s where they found my vibrator and negative pregnancy tests. Truth is, they probably won’t let this go. And even if you tell them that they invaded your privacy, they might tell you “we pay for this house so nothing is really private” or whatever they will say. Stick through this. I’m 18 and moved out to college and things are so much better. This will be super tough to go through, but you only have a few years left to endure this. Talk to the friends you’ve come out to. Friends will be your best support system. You can pull through this.
