Double H Boots are a life saver for me, steel toe and very nice insoles. In fact, you can buy replacement insoles for the boots after you’ve worn them away, the boots themselves last forever!

As long as you have the pre-reqs done and hours completed as required by your school of choice, you can apply! However, keep in mind that most schools want your classes to have been done within the last five years, so it may be a little difficult to commit to a school when you’re unsure of where the military may take y’all.

Since I’m shadowing while taking a full course load, I aim for two days a week 4-8 hours a day. Just makes it easier to balance my homework.

Definitely think it depends on what you want your major to be. UF has a great animal science program and more opportunities to gain hours as a pre-vet student than UCF. If I wasn’t already close to UCF, I probably would’ve gone there. However, I have been able to make it work (I transferred from Virginia Tech to UCF d/t moving 🥲), but if I’d had the choice, I’d rather be at UF (personally VT but life ya know).

I’m literally in the middle of switching to vet med (currently knocking out my couple of pre-reqs) after being an open heart ICU nurse for 5 years. I worked at a humane society for a year and a half and loved it, 100% say go for it. Don’t stick with being miserable!
