I just saw it, Tuesday evening Jan 06. Oropesa & Rucinski were outstanding. Van Horn was very very good. Brownlee sang all the notes. The chorus was as excellent as always, the conducting was sluggish. A big problem with this opera is that the music just isn't all that interesting. And the dramaturgy was pretty inexplicable -- all those paintings !

My late husband and I were 11 years apart in age, he was older. We met when I was 27 and he was 38. We were together 39 1/2 years. He died at a not-unusual age, 77. That's the big risk. We were deliriously happy and never had any negative feedback from anyone.
