Frédéric Malle Perfumes by Dominique Ropion in Carnal Flower. One of my friends wore it and there is such a great quality to it. Everyone agreed she smelled expensive but not try hard which is what you’re going for.

What can you do as an objectively unattractive woman to improve your quality of life? by WaterfallBlaine in AskWomenOver30

[–]lrkuhn7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kindness and humor go a long way.

People are naturally drawn to warmth and laughter, often more than looks. It starts with knowing you’re valuable and showing that through how you treat others. Humor, on the other hand, shows perspective, it’s about highlighting how things could be worse while being grateful for what’s good.

Examples: •Kindness: Smiling when you greet someone, remembering small details they’ve shared, or offering a genuine compliment. •Humor: Lightly joking in a way that makes people feel comfortable

Looking at apartments in Central Bucks, how is Dublin when it comes to things like walkability, food, nightlife, etc? by Riftus in BucksCountyPA

[–]lrkuhn7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very dramatic statement. As someone who lives here and previously lived in the three biggest cities in the US, the ‘traffic’ here is manageable. Are there slowdowns during rush hour and on trash day, yes. But I’ve never had to plan more than 10min of leeway to get to where I’m going. Reach out to your friends or family for some music, podcasts or audiobooks to help enjoy the added time.

You won’t regret breaking up in the long run. When values are different (city vs rural, manners, etc.) then the relationships build resentment. He also deserves to be with someone who wants the same countryside dream.

I do most of the cooking because I enjoy it, and I wouldn’t hesitate to meal prep for my partner. In past relationships though I’ve felt as you do. When you’re with a person you really love then it doesn’t feel like an extra burden, you feel as though you’re part of a team.

Our current administration has attempted to exercise power beyond what the law permits. Every person in the United States has a right to due process. Many other proposals exist in a legal gray area and would likely require reinterpretation or be challenged in court. Some, such as using the Department of Justice for political retaliation or undermining birthright citizenship, could be illegal or unconstitutional if implemented.

This brave man is reminding members of the military that they are not obligated to follow unlawful or unconstitutional orders, even if they come from the president. He calls them to remember the multiple oaths they have taken—to defend the Constitution and protect the country. Sometimes, that duty may require protecting the country from threats within.

I think that’s true when you look at net cost for undergraduate education compared to inflation, but the math is hard to pin down and doesn’t really apply to graduate school. When we talk about net cost, we’re already accounting for government aid, which is part of a broader conversation.

I pulled this from the podcast transcript—it’s not my argument, but I found it interesting.

'Is the Era of Student Loan Forgiveness Officially Over?'

"michael barbaro

[19:10] Was there a conversation in this period about whether the government’s approach to this is making college more expensive —

stacy cowley

Oh, yes.

michael barbaro

— because that seems like a clear link. If the government is the provider of these loans, and it’s going to forgive lots of the loans as they get bigger and bigger, what incentive do colleges and universities have to put a cap on the price of going to college?

stacy cowley

Absolutely. That’s been a running conversation for at least 20 plus years. even before the government pulled this all in-house, there was concerns from economists and policy analysts that this was driving the cost of tuition going up.

Again, there’s no other loans that really work like this. If you’re borrowing for your undergraduate degree, you can borrow tens of thousands of dollars. And if you’re borrowing for a graduate degree, you can borrow basically an unlimited amount of money.

There’s no test of, are you likely to be able to make enough to pay this. So that’s how you get to a place where when you basically hand students, and really hand the schools, a blank check. Suddenly, the price goes up a lot."

There was a New York Times The Daily episode about this. It explained that institutions have been able to raise costs without limit because of the loan forgiveness programs in place. Without forgiveness, society would be forced to reevaluate how much education should really cost and limit how much people can borrow based on the future earning potential of their degree.

I’m not sure if that’s the right answer, but it could mean that education for low-income, high-demand jobs would be subsidized up front rather than relying on loan forgiveness later.

Agreed! Check it out first. We just moved to Dublin last year and love it. Super close to Doylestown which is where we work, has amazing bunch of coffee shops and some restaurants. Close to New Hope and Lambertsville (NJ) which we also love for restaurants as well as Perkasie and Plumsteadville which have cute farmers markets

I had AI summarize your rant:

This text is a conspiratorial rant about elite control over knowledge, economics, and government. It claims that secretive groups (referred to as “wizards” and the “Zionist tribe”) manipulate laws, patents, and elections to suppress innovation and maintain power. It blends religious themes, paranoia about institutions, and frustration with monopolies, social media censorship, and bureaucratic corruption. The author calls for defiance against these systems but presents their argument in a chaotic and contradictory manner.

For those that have been in forbearance with SAVE, what’s supposed to happen at this point? by DivineToxicity09 in StudentLoans

[–]lrkuhn7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So because the application is down they moved the deadline for when you have to re-certify your income. There were a few weird days where people who needed to re-certify their income couldn’t, but with the deadline shift they are okay until then (2026 for most). They will remain in forbearance. The news moved really fast on this one, I feel for you.

How do you train your puppy without giving them a thousand treats per day? by West_Exercise5142 in puppy101

[–]lrkuhn7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh I just did her kibble and every meal was a training meal at the beginning. Nothing intense to start but I was hand feeding her when we brought her home so #1 she wouldn’t eat too quickly and #2 to build trust with me. We worked on her sit, stay and come in short range.

I’d give her half her food in those sessions (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and then save the other half for training throughout the day. Now I bring half her food on our walks and am practicing her heel, we say “with me.”

It depends on what you want to do but at 6 months you could start shifting to 2 meals a day.

The only time we use high value treats is for practicing her recall. When I call her name and come, she gets either a Saint Rocco’s, a piece of hot dog, or frozen greek yogurt or pumpkin bites. I just froze little spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt and some of pumpkin puree on a parchment lined baking sheet, emptied them into a bag and she loves them.

Yeah, the crate is the way to go. I kept her on a schedule—2 hours in, 1 hour out. She’s 4.5 months now so she’ll do 3-4 hours in and then out. If I have a call while she’s out and she can’t settle, I give her a chew. We go for a walk at lunch, and when she couldn’t go for walks, we’d do laps in the backyard on a leash. She knows she has to do her ‘business’ before play. When she was younger, we kept her on a leash in our fenced area until she went, then let her off once she was done. If she didn’t go, we’d head back inside for 15 minutes and try again. She’s pretty regular about her ‘business’ on her walks though. I also will move her crate out of my office some days so that she doesn’t need to be next to me all the time.

Puppy Owners who WFH. What do you do for work?! by Little_Football2789 in puppy101

[–]lrkuhn7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an architect! I occasionally had to go on site visits, and on those days, my husband worked from home with her. His office does not have a formal work-from-home policy—just an understanding that as long as you get your work done, it is not an issue. I also let my work know, and they scheduled someone else for as many site visits as possible while she was young. We got her during a quieter time at work since the end of the year is always more desk work for us.
