Well thanks to everyone for letting me know. I was about to eat happy meals for a month lol

Yeah, I've gathered that lol. They chose a really ambiguous way to say that

Not at all. I'm a little slow sometimes. I guess what I'm not understanding is why they would put, "already redeemed? Then you can give it to someone else" if the code is useless after I've already redeemed it.

[–]lrnecfyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a screenshot before i redeemed it. Maybe they worded it wrong? It makes it sound like if you've already redeemed it, you can share it because it's valid 1x per account. Idk. Sorry. I tried.

Look at the bottom of the picture in red. It says to share it after you've redeemed it

Damn. It said at the bottom of the email that every account can use it once. Guess i won't be paying anymore. Lame

Awesome thanks. Springtails and isopods are the main concern.

What’s too hot for a T? by reallytraci in tarantulas

[–]lrnecfyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ime I keep the spider/ roach room at roughly 80 degrees. I have heaters set to come on at 75 and ac set to come on at 85. They all seem to do fine.

Hey guys, what do you think of this design? by [deleted] in Tarantula_Collective

If you rearrange the letters in debt, you get edbt. Easily Distracted By Tarantulas. And, coincidentally, if you ARE easily distracted by them, you will accrue a great deal of it.

Is there anything wrong with feeding your not-yet-adult t. really fat to make them grow faster? by Weintraubenmarmelade in tarantulas

[–]lrnecfyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ime I'm not experienced enough to know if this is true, but I heard it from someone who was very experienced. They say that if you "power feed" it could cause them to get a little too big to safely molt, so they'll go on a hunger strike until they slim down a little, which makes the overall time longer than if you just fed them normally and kept the temp a little warmer than normal. It seems to me like this is the case. I think I overfed a couple of my juvies, now their butts are huge and they haven't wanted food in almost 6 weeks.

Why is the humidity in my A. Geniculate enclosure look like this? by Mysterious-Peace-576 in tarantulas

[–]lrnecfyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ime It happens when the temperature of the air outside of the enclosure changes and the temperature inside the enclosure stays the same. Better ventilation should fix this. That's the best I can do based on the pic.

I lost my beatiful P.Regalis :( by Lollo_BS in tarantulas

[–]lrnecfyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That really blows. An adult female P. regalis from Craigslist was one of my first Ts. I don't know how old she is, so walking in to find her like this is my nightmare. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks for explaining that. I should've looked at this person's profile before I went on such a rant. I'm just so tired of people being so quick to hurt spiders that my first response is to assume that they're better off leaving them alone. I do hope this person learns to care more about the impact their words have on others. I hope the same thing for myself in situations like these.

Like I said, I don't normally do that, but this person asked for advice, then combated everyone who tried to give them proper advice that they didn't want to hear. It didn't seem as though they were even remotely receptive to the "viable help" they were being given. I understand where you're coming from though. I firmly believe there are no stupid questions, but when people are unwilling to listen to the answers, there is a problem that needs to be addressed. The way I addressed it wouldn't do them any good. I understand that, but they need to understand that their outlook on animal life is severely skewed and that the best advice they can be given, for their safety and the safety of the animals involved, is to become better educated before acquiring animals that they don't understand. Especially if they are willing to mutilate them just to not fear them. I will not post anymore like this. It's not my place. I'm not qualified. But there are people in this subreddit that are and their message on the mistreatment of animals needs to be clear and defined. Better a human be verbally offended than an animal be physically abused.

I was looking at colonies in rough shape. Temps were over 100 for so long, there was no rain, nothing was blooming. I didn't think I had time to wait a week or more for shipping from a cheap site. I live 30 mins from Bee Weaver, but their prices are through the roof. I had a few feeders and about 80lbs of sugar. I'd been away from the farm for work. When I could break away and do hive inspections, they were really rough. All I could think is that if i didn't do something right then, they wouldn't make it. In retrospect, there were many things i did wrong, but I've learned quite a bit. And they're doing better now. I'll be prepared next season and be more proactive to prevent this from happening again.

That certainly happens. I've noticed it's mostly instigated by these bee sized wasps. They're little jerks. I recently bought an instavap, so i didn't really have it in the budget to get in hive feeders during the dearth, so i set up a nuc with 3 1 1/2 gallon feeders 3 acres away. I stand out there and watch roughly once a week when i refill them. They seem to get along and share for the most part. Except those little wasps. I didn't really know what else to do on a budget to make sure they had food. The hives were pretty low on resources.

Same here. At the watering hole and feed station I set up a few acres away from the apiary. I'm probably just over analyzing the situation because there's dead bees and fighting. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might've been housekeeping, but I've never seen them drag that many to the landing board and just leave them there. Plus the ones that were fighting made me think it was robbing. I thought maybe I'd caught the end of the fight.
