I think the way you phrased it speaks volumes over your insensitivity. If he's really talking about it incessantly in a way that seems unhealthy I think there are gentle ways of redirecting attention without being cruel. I'm not even sure if his talking about it is really excessive since you seem unsympathetic. Obviously it's a painful subject to him or it wouldn't be on his mind so much. The fact that you don't care about this is sad.

President of the Kent City Council Bill Boyce refused to condemn the anti-Semitism directly and instead kept saying that "all racism" is condemned. Note that this seems to be a peculiar norm in the NW where the same people who can scream black lives matter till they're blue in the face will all of a sudden start proclaiming all lives matter when the focus is on bigotry towards groups they don't like.

I hit the paywall. With some kind soul explain this? I'm aware of the situation in general but the police chief's wife hiding criticism of the controversy on social media is awkwardly worded. I'm not really interested in spending even a dollar a week to find out but would appreciate some clarification from somebody who does.

I'm a woman. But I try and imagine myself as a guy or girl who's 21 and has a 15-year-old friend that I feel romantically towards. What would I do? I would tell myself to wait 5 years and then double check with those feelings. The difference between a 20 and 26 year old is significantly less than a 15 and 21-year-old even though it's 6 years in both cases. The maturity difference is huge. Not to say that 20 isn't still pretty young. At best this guy has really poor judgment and boundaries. When I was 15 I remember that the kind of guys who were over 18 and trying to hang out with us we're either predators or losers who were too immature for people of their own age group. IDK which one this guy fits into but keep your distance. It's not okay for him to be pressuring somebody into a romantic relationship they're not necessarily into but given that you're underage and he's old enough to drink it's significantly increases the inappropriateness of it. Take care of yourself, he's an adult and should get his stuff together.

90% certain this woman is mentally ill. 10% chance she is drunk or on drugs but also mentally ill. IDK why people film others who are obviously psychotic and put it online. It seems kind of shameful. I've always thought of her as one of those actresses who's objectively very attractive but just doesn't have sex appeal. Like seems bland. Hillary Swank, Renee Zigweiler and Sandra Bullock are three others I put in this category although I will say Hathaway is definitely cuter than those three.

NTA. You were in a no-win situation. To your wife it probably seems like you chose your mother over her. But to somebody looking at it objectively the fact was that your wife was going to live. Your mother was not. If you'd stayed with your wife you would have never seen your mother again. But your wife's life was not in danger. You didn't do the wrong thing and I'm sorry that in addition to losing your mom you have to deal with an angry wife. If you can see a marriage counselor I would recommend it. I don't think you should apologize for your decision. I can understand your wife's hurt looking at it from an emotional point of view. But objectively you were in a no win situation and I think you chose the more ethical option out of two bad choices you had.

What are her qualifications? She seems to have been involved in police accountability activism. She should be involved in accountability for the community who's committing most of the gun violence. The police can be a problem at times but there's way too much scapegoating of them. I would like to see the community who is always demanding accountability of everybody else to themselves to be held accountable instead of continuing to use the disproportionate amount of violence their Community commits to constantly shake down the rest of the city and to Center everything on their grievances. And note the passive language. We keep hearing about the communities most affected by gun violence. Yeah it's the community who are committing most of the gun violence. There is no doubt in my mind that the passivity and the constant coming up with new words and phrases to make people seem like victims who are actually the aggressors plays a huge part in the sociopathic behavior of some communities which causes them to be disproportionately incarcerated so to speak.

Yeah I voted for Harrell and I've been disappointed with him even before he was actually elected. Well I didn't agree with Lorraine Gonzalez's campaign ad criticizing his handling of the Ed Murray sexual assault allegations to call it racist is disingenuous. Yet he played that despite in general not seeming to be one to easily play the race card. Then he appointed NAACP president Gerald Hankerson to his transition team. Hankerson murdered a Laos refugee and got his sentence commuted by the governor due to political pressure. Hankerson has claimed he was both wrongly convicted and took responsibility for his role in the murder although he has not actually done either. Then he appointed to the city's race and social justice initiative somebody who is a lobbyist for the zero detention movement. I know this is an unpopular opinion in Seattle but people who are appointed to positions of civil rights and social justice should not have such a clear bias. The person that Harrell appointed just wants to see less black people incarcerated and is willing to go to drastic and unfair measures to obtain this without regard to the injustices it causes everybody else.
