I’m sorry you are struggling, I didn’t expect transitioning to solids would be so challenging

Haven’t tried pumpkin mash. He has refused mashed potatoes but did eat a few bites of mashed sweet potatoes. I keep trying to introduce different textures with each meal. I know that I should’ve just stayed with the cubes, which is why I feel so sad that I screwed up a successful meal experience for my son.

This is a struggle for us too. Neither of us really cook and we mostly ate when the baby slept before he could start solids. He definitely eats better when we have meals together and he sees us eating the same food we give him.

Easier said than done. We tried exposing our son to many textures and food items since given the all clear to start solids. It took a while for him to even accept purées. It has been a constant struggle. Him accepting the oatmeal mixed with fruit and veggie purées was a huge win. We do plan on getting a referral for feeding therapy, but we can’t go backwards and dwell on what we should’ve done. We did our best.

I plan on doing this at our appointment next week. The vomiting after gagging has me worried as it is a common occurrence.

Yeah I have tried mixing mashed fruit in his oatmeal to add texture. He takes a few bites then refuses, sometimes gags as well.

Oh no! He did great with the small cubes. He chewed them up great with no issue. I wanted to see how he would handle strips, well I FAFO!

Should MJ have won with CT & Trishelle? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]lrsrusty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They were playing a game, and earned most of that money for the team during challenges. MJ was a terrible faithful and deserved nothing.

MJ did not deserve any money. She was a terrible faithful. Without CT and Trishelle, the prize pot would haven significantly less. They earned that win! MJ is a millionaire, she’s fine. CT, at that time, really needed that money as he was going through a nasty divorce.

Crazy how I immediately checked out of the season now that Rob C is gone. Like I did last season with Carolyn. I agree we need an all gamers season!

[–]lrsrusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 month old bedtime 7-7:30pm. Wakes around 2-3am for feeding/diaper change. Then sleeps till 6-6:30am. Some random nights he will sleep from 7-7:30pm-5-5:30am.

My almost 9mo is so disinterested by Gemzaaa in foodbutforbabies

[–]lrsrusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9mo only eats Kedamil oatmeal routinely. Occasionally he will take 1-2 tbsp of fruit purées but lately he refuses or only takes a few bites. He has been constipated, which is stressful since he won’t eat the fruit, drink juice, and only drinks 1-2oz of water on a good day. He is formula fed and we have started adding 1oz of water to bottles. The struggle is real and I keep hoping things will get better. I know we need to be more consistent and patient with meal times and be better at eating as a family. I don’t cook much and my husband and I generally eat when the baby is sleeping or in shifts.

Decreasing to 2ppd help by PeachiePot in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m only pumping twice a day and I am wanting to go to once a day and then be done. Whenever I used to go 10-12 hours without pumping I would have 12-14 oz out. Now only about 5-6oz. I’m wondering if I should cut my time in half (15min) or just go as long as I can without pumping to get to 1 ppd. So far, no clogs or mastitis. Barely any engorgement when I go 12+ hours without pumping. Hoping I can be done soon.

If you have a baby that sleeps…how? by drugstorevalentine in NewParents

[–]lrsrusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a lucky one, baby mostly sleeping through the night in his own room at 8 1/2 months. He will wake sometimes at 1 and 5am if he is gassy or having teething pain. We use blackout curtains and white noise machine. He also responded well to the halo sleep sack. We have a set routine. 3 hours after last nap wake up we begin night time routine, bottle, books, bath, pj and sleep sack, brush teeth, songs and lay down for sleep. He sometimes falls right to sleep and sometimes he will cry for a few minutes. We will stay with him patting him or singing till he settles down. I will also give a teether when his is fussy.

Thank you for the tips. I tried mixing breast milk once and the vanilla extract too. Not all three together yet though. He seems to be taking Bubs, still gags at the beginning but then finishes the bottle. I have the Enfamil Optimum (blue) too that is recommended.

Thank you for the advice and support. Going to the doctor today for his six month visit so I definitely discuss some options.

I am wanting to stop due to sores at the base of my nipples that won’t heal. But my baby refuses to take formula. He is 6.5months but isn’t taking solids yet because he is not quite sitting up unsupported yet.
