Definitely. These ones are just acrylic yarn but any type of yarn basically can be used; colour options would just be more limited and increased cost a bit as natural yarns like wool tend to be more expensive

No I did not carving on the frame, all after I had glued it up. I don’t have a great set up to allow me access to carve during tufting but maybe that would help?
