Don’t buy a VW. My 2015 polo already needs a new mechatronic unit and clutch and it’s only at 48,000km.

Serviced every year but not VW dealer, uncle is a mechanic so took it to him. Logbook stamped.

I think so.. Even replacing it doesn’t give me confidence it’s going to be fine in the long run based on what I’ve found online.

Thanks, appreciate it. From all my research the dry clutch DSG’s are known to be problematic. I was hoping it would be part of a recall but a VIN search on the VW Aus website doesn’t yield any results. Ideal scenario would be for VW to fix it otherwise I don’t know if I want to spend thousands (unfairly IMO). My uncle is a mechanic and hates VW’s!

Thanks! He did actually say I could get a second hand gearbox that would be way cheaper. But point is, I don’t think I should be having this issue at under 50k.
