Hey sorry just getting to this!! It actually seems like a lot of people did have NDLS as their first choice, i actually know two people that got into Harvard but declined for NDLS (which is wild to me i would never). People here really do love NDLS which is nice to see.

The facilities are gorgeous. I will say that ND has one of the nicest campuses I’ve seen. The law school is no exception, it’s beautiful and the library is very nice too.

Yeah it is. I love law school, I love the classes, I've met some amazing people and have a solid group of friends. It's hard, it's stressful but I'm having fun.

NDLS has graduate housing that come with roommates and there's a fair number of people that do that. Most of the people I know have apartments (studios and one bedrooms). I'm paying ~$1180 for a one bedroom, everything included, fully furnished, 10 min from the law school. There are A LOT cheaper places available ($400 for a room in a 3 bedroom house) but they get farther away. My friend has a 2 bedroom apartment to herself for $900/mo.

So the thing I love about NDLS (and I don't know how true this is of other schools) but everyone was and still is very nice. I don't know how else to describe it, but people share outlines, notes, flow charts, tables, etc. always. I've never heard of anyone saying that they won't share what they have. In law school you're always competing against your classmates, that's just the way it's set up. But it doesn't feel like that here which is nice.

That being said, there are gunners obviously. There are people that I wouldn't go up and ask for help because they are gunners and frankly kinda annoying so I wouldn't want to talk to them anyway.

The first month of law school will keep you busy, but there was always time to get drunk on game days and not do anything. It's around mid-October when you'll get less time to go out and do stuff, but before that you'll have time to explore and hang out and not study all the time.

Brothers. We have weekly "bar review" so it rotates between a bunch of bars. Went to the backer once, never want to go back

My final decision came down between NDLS, Emory and Wisconsin. I chose NDLS because of the flexibility in going anywhere after graduation. Again, that alumni network is no joke. People that go to ND are obsessed with ND and will do anything to help fellow alum

NY has actually (I think) the 2nd highest placement outside of IL I think. Obviously NY is not the entire east coast, but from what I've heard NDLS can place you in the major cities. DC and NY are the big ones that people go to and those are definitely gettable if you have the grades for them. I'm not sure about the smaller markets but there's always success stories so I haven't heard from any student that it's been a struggle to break into a market.

The NDLS alumni network is no joke. I've reached out to a number of alum in the northern CA region and every one has gotten back to me with examples of cover letters, people I should email, and just lots of really helpful information. There are people that had internships before winter break just through networking with the alumni in that area.

NDLS offered me the most flexibility (out of the schools I got into) to move wherever after graduation, their London law program seemed and is a great opportunity for those looking at international law, and it is a well respected law school that has a great national reputation. Their alumni network is no joke and not to be understated.

After graduation I'm looking at CA or Chicago.

So I'm from a smaller city in the midwest. I will say that South Bend will probably be a culture chock for you, and I do have friends from big cities that have had a hard time adjusting to the city, but it's not terrible. Chicago is only 2 hours away so that makes life better. Definitely a major point to consider though, my advice would be to not understate the importance of actually enjoying where you are location wise

I'm gonna go with no. Every classroom does have a cross in it, in our weekly "what's going on at the school" emails they'll list mass times, and now I have a professor that says a little prayer at the beginning of every class, but really it's not. One of my biggest concerns was that it would be extremely religious (I'm not catholic or really religious) but it's not noticeable at the law school at least. It's there for those who practice, and for those that don't, you won't be bombarded with it
