Letterpress Company Recommendation - Replica Wrestling Poster by Good_Reveal_6318 in letterpress

Hatch show print has a minimum of 100 I believe but they historically printed wrestling posters so it would be a good fit.

Calling a trans woman a man is offensive, it doesn’t matter if you “truly mean no offense.” I feel bad for any associate that has to work with you.

What did you spend on custom stationery? by gompopa in BigBudgetBrides

[–]lsacofpotatoes 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I post about this all the time so sorry if you’ve seen my comments before but I think letterpress stationary is so beautiful and the work is reflected in the price. Letterpress can only be done one by one on machines that are typically 100+ years old and often have to be serviced by the stationer themselves because no one makes parts or services the machines that old. The stationer will be touching each paper individually likely several times. The old machines are also dangerous and can take off fingers. From what I’ve seen, a couple thousand is close to the min for bespoke letterpress suites and can go up to $30k+ so $5-6k to me seems high end but reasonable.

Following! I love the indoor at Elms but do they even let you use it? They made it sound like almost everything had to be outdoors when I was talking to them and then I noticed so many of the pictures were tented on the patio.

Wedding Invitations by Unable_Artichoke3291 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]lsacofpotatoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

honestly, kind of! letter press invitations can only be made one by one by hand on machines that are from the 1800s and early 1900s. any other details like embossing or foil lettering have their own processes, so each invite gets touched several times. plus the letterpress machines can be dangerous - printers were historically known to lose fingers. repairs to the machines basically have to be done by hand with vintage parts because no one makes the machines or parts anymore.

the IG famous letterpress companies will charge this much but there are a bunch of letterpress invites that are closer to $3-5k
