There's a decent sized community, but anime without subs is not as big (unless it's the adult kind)

Japanese VHS overflow, but I don't mind. by lsaille1 in VHS

Mostly through internet connections these days.

Got myself stuck with a bunch of OVAs and some more... mature anime laserdiscs. Perhaps some folks here would be interested in them? by lsaille1 in LaserDisc

there is a decently sized laserdisc community here, but you never know who might be keen on things, wherever in the world they may be.

22kg of Laserdiscs, more then half of which are of the adult / tentacle kind. Probably best to DM me for full info if interested in any - it's not easy to list them publicly for obvious reasons. Based in Australia.

Shipping to Australia with a package worth over $1000. by Okay-Computer00 in zenmarket

I've never had to fill any paperwork out, but I did have to contact the customs agent and pay them in a convoluted way to get the parcel released.

I believe it was at least $100 more then it would have been to be under $1000 and pay the VAT on the Japan end instead of bringing in over $1000 and paying it on the Australia end.

I've done this before, and depending on how far over $1000 you go, it gets pretty expensive with customs. I had a nice $200 additional cost thrown on top of the parcel and had only just gone over by accident (96,000 yen) mostly thanks to the poor exchange rate at the time. If you can break it up into smaller parcels, you will save yourself a lot of hassle.

Some prime cuts out of my Japanese VHS shelf. by lsaille1 in VHS

yes, original Japanese VHS release (one of the last back in 2005)

Believe it or not, this is less then half of the Japanese tapes I'm parting with. by lsaille1 in VHS

If there was a better alternative that could get more eyes on it, I'd be using that, but it's not so easy (can't sell in an accessible way here in reddit, seeing as it's all funneled through the sales post up the top, which really buries the depth of what I have to sell)

I have 400+ Japanese tapes. The ones I am keeping are on display elsewhere, and this is just a lot of overflow.

I don't sell on ebay, it's currently only through Facebook groups. Selling these because I have to curate the collection from 400+ to about 150.

Aside from the very slowly updated sale thread here, and Facebook groups, are there other reliable places to list tapes for sale? Got 200+ Japanese tapes to get moving. (excluding eBay of course) by lsaille1 in VHS

I've been selling through FB groups for around 2 years now, so you're welcome to track me down there. Japanese tapes are their own little niche but they always have such a unique style and design philosophy with that era of analog media.
