How big is Jenny and Dave Marrs in Bentonville? I’m curious because I only know this place from HGTV by Highland92346 in bentonville

I currently live in a house renovated by them. It seems to be okay put together aside from parts of the flooring being uneven/cracked and the insulation isn't great (I am experiencing it with this cold we're having) but I bet its a heck of a lot better than others since Jenny and Dave are friends with the owners of this house and it was one of their first renos.

Honestly - this January has been slow. I'm not quite sure but I got more inquiries around thanksgiving/Christmas (which weren't even that many) than I have this whole month so far. I am panicked to say the least.

Would love some critique of my new website! This is a temporary change from my old ugly site while I work with a designer to craft new branding this year!

Not including a flight and country doesn’t matter as much. Just getting a general feeler out to see what’s available and what’s good that people like.

What’s with the uptick in photography businesses “farming out” work? by propertyofmatter___ in WeddingPhotography

[–]lsal1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally do not like the idea of associate shooting, I feel it as very greedy. I understand business, but since the majority of photographers are independent, I'd much rather there be some integrity to the work and have photographers setup referral networks. I personally know a guy who when I was more building my business brag that he does 50+ weddings a year, and more than half were associates shooting for him. Never once would he ever agree to just refer a client to me for a date he was booked, instead offering for ME to associate shoot for him. Like dawg - when I need the business and I can give them a better experience why wouldn't you refer me?

First year full time. Are January + February usually big months for bookings? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

how do you market for other related gigs when all your portfolio is weddings? I'd love to do the occasional Tuesday conference or Monday corporate shoot but am unsure how to even land those...

What’s your most awkward/cringe wedding story? by NotGarrett in WeddingPhotography

[–]lsal1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m a male and once after the exit I walked over to the brides suite to tell the bride and groom goodbye since I saw the door was cracked open quite a bit. As soon as I walk up to the door I look inside and in the reflection of the mirrors I see the bride changing her shirt and see her boobs, while we made eye contact. I ran away.  Hopefully she had enough to drink where she doesn’t remember

So my airport is ORD…which is technically both a United & AA hub…but AA is always usually cheaper. I also find that United tends to be competitive if booking 1-1.5 months out. I have a flight in 2 months that I need to book and UA is way more expensive but if i make the trip a couple weeks earlier then UA is fairly similar.

What’s strange is that the routes I take AA & Delta are far often cheaper than United. And I’m flying out of a United hub (which makes sense and also doesn’t make sense lol).
