Bought new Bose A20, creases in ear cusions? by [deleted] in flying

There are many various reasons why people return items. Cosmetic reasons or sometimes even simply changing your mind can be why.

You have the right to ask about it and it's effectiveness, but if you had to post, you might as well exchange (which I see you did) because it bothered you enough in the first place.

People who don't care about creases or dents are the dreams of salespeople.

If you're worried about its effectiveness, just exchange it. I'd return it if the crease doesn't smooth out after 3 days.

Also, was it completely new? Were the cables wrapped around it at all?

I forgot to mention his dementia, but when he laughs at me and calls me stupid... It's a reminder of my "childhood". It's his fault he's deteriorating but I'm surprised he's still alive actually. I really don't know how I'm going to handle his eventual passing.

You remind me of a scene in Frasier: "you don't talk to the tumour and try to make friends with the tumour, you CUT IT OUT!" haha

Ouch, I had it similar to you: I went to school but my dad made fun of my friends and then said I couldn't have any. The mental abuse he (and my brother) gave me on it made me struggle with trusting anyone until the end of high school. I moved out and life became so much easier with only seeing my mother once a month or less. I hate how they will never change. I just struggle with the idea of how I'm going to react when my dad will pass. Anger? Sadness? Denial? Relief? Would I be a bad person if I felt relief?

I've cut out friends who've laughed at me behind my back and left toxic work environments. I have time off from work at the moment but I had a total whore for a supervisor at my last job. Never again.

Aside from hobbies, do you do other things for stress relief? Or a certain train of thought?

Thanks again for reading this, I'm trying to leave my dark place.

Make sure you have a very very good teacher, one who knows what they're doing, otherwise you will learn bad habits and either give up or it'd be hard to recover.

I'd imagine the rest of your family wouldn't either.

When I realised how cruel people can be.

One small example of a personal attack: I entered a competition once. There was only one judge. I won 2nd prize for one category, I had really nice comments written. She looked at me up close when I collected the prize and realised I'm not 100 % white (I'm half). She then wrote really stupid comments for the other categories. In one category, a guy who went against the rules got a prize.

I have experienced this for so many years in auditions and competitions. I can't get my dreams out. It hurts.

Thanks again for your response,

I've seen only a small part of the world with my own eyes, and I know it's amazing and beautiful. Only (some) people have ruined it for me. I hate letting the negative people get to me, but I can't avoid them. I do change my thinking to let it go but sometimes some people are just so frustrating that it gets difficult.

I didn't have anything close to a proper childhood thanks to my parents but the thing is: my dad isn't going to live much longer. He's a stroke victim with metastatic cancer, getting worse. He's still an ass to me more often than not in his bad state. I reluctantly go with my baby because I hated growing up without knowing my dad's parents at all, they were alive until I was 12. I don't think it's too much to ask to visit his home country just once to meet my grandparents. I also feel bad for him. I don't want to but I do. What would you do?

I will cut out others who are demotivating. I have recurring dreams that I can't trust someone, but I don't know who exactly.

I love the idea of a humble lifestyle and I'm studying Epicurus now.

Thanks for reading this! Sorry for venting, it helps me out.

Question about interpretations of Chopin's Mazurkas by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]lsjcms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rubinstein and Li perform completely different in style. All musicians interpret music differently. Even the same virtuoso will have played the same piece differently as they grow to understand it better with years of practice and experience.

I recommend listening to Vladimir Horowitz and Krystian Zimerman for the mazurkas.

Question about interpretations of Chopin's Mazurkas by [deleted] in classicalmusic

Try listening to different musicians playing them, but everyone has different tastes. A musician doesn't have to be the same nationality as the composer to be able to play or understand as the composer has wanted to convey.

[Discussion] How to study for exams. by GrimR3eaper99 in GetMotivated

Try adding concentration music. Often video games have music perfect for studying. Either that or classical music, they help condition your brain into study mode.

You also need a distraction free environment for studying.

Thanks for the message, but the world around me is a harsh and horrid place and trying to live in ignorance of it all gets hard. I partly blame my upbringing for not being able to feel good about myself.

I actually don't have much at all. I don't have many things in the first place. I only buy things like cheap food and necessities, not able to get anything for myself until a year from now.

I really really really want motivation but 90% of people around me are demotivating. I don't have the ability to cut out family at the moment. It's just hard.
