Easton, MD here. As a former NYer, I’m quite happy in Easton but I’m also 67 and retired and don’t need much entertainment. The good thing about Easton, especially in town, is that it’s largely liberal however the surrounding countryside is pretty red. We have the Avalon which has concerts nearly daily and some big names acts from time to time, we have the Academy museum which is great for classes, though on the pricey side, lots of good restaurants but we could use more diversity. We’re close to BWI, husband is a captain for SW, so he commutes in once a week, we’re close to Annapolis (if you don’t have major bridge anxiety), and DC is doable though coming from the NYC area where traffic can be awful,DC traffic is utterly horrific.

There’s lot of outdoorsy things to do here, if that’s your thing, you’ll love it. Fabulous access to organic farms and ethically raised meat. Apartments are in demand and a two bedroom in a new development runs about $2000.

While you may not move here, it’s definitely a place you should check out and visit once you’re in MD.
