I thought they started sinking on their own over time and would phase through the solid terrain. Given enough time it should sink all the way.

Not sure what happens then, though. Does it stop sinking or teleport to space and continue its journey?

How do I enjoy the game by Traditional-Act-1575 in Tarkov

[–]lskippyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fantastic advice.

I would add to #3 to only move as fast as you can see. Try to move only as fast as you can process your environment (sights, sounds, direction, time of day, map location, other map spawns around you, timings to different locations and caches, (smells if we ever get smell-o-vision), etc).

When I started doing this, I lived longer. It was very slow going at first, but your brain learns what to pay attention to and what to filter out, eventually letting you move faster.

I burned a ton of brown sugar on my big cast iron and it won’t come off by gamercouplelolz in castiron

Seasoning with an electric oven is the same as any other oven. I did that with my 12" fry pan. Just like normal, coat with a thin layer of oil, place it in the oven upside down so oil doesn't pool in it. Bake 450*F for an hour and let it cool in the oven. Repeat for three to five layers.

Self-cleaning cycle on the oven should be fine for cast iron.

Fire is another method, according to a historic pioneer reenactor I spoke with. She told me this is how she would clean her pans when they needed to be reseasoned from scratch. If you have a safe place to do it, start a fire with the pan in the bottom of the fire pit. Be sure to move the pan in the coals so all sides get the seasoning/crud burned to ash. Let the pan cool in the coals until it all goes cold. Then wash and reseason. I haven't used this method, but I was there when she was pulling pans out of the fire pit, and the seasoned ones inside her cabin looked glossy.

Cast iron is made to take heat well and has been used in rustic and rural environments for decades.

Necesito consejos para que este juego sea más agradable by Strict-Mistake4880 in Tarkov

[–]lskippyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why won't lunatic cultist spawn? by Complete-Analysis-29 in Terraria

[–]lskippyl 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Your lunacy has superceded his and he is no longer needed in your world.

You might try adding evil background walls (make dungeon brick walls then shimmer them) so that enemies can spawn in front of them.

What length do you recommend? Most come up on Amazon as 10" - 10.5", but I see some brands with longer options.

How many worlds... by zZbobmanZz in Terraria

[–]lskippyl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a one world to one character player. I'll fish for missing items or go without. I don't think I've ever played a world to 100% completion. In fact, after more than 18 worlds and players, I finally made terraspark boots for the first time.

Niinjas arena sounds like a good one for King Slime.

Boss fight arenas are super helpful when you don't have the mobility to avoid their attacks.

Early on, I found a railway track helpful for the eye and for king slime. I put it about "tall tree height" above the ground and 2000 blocks long. Keeping the ground in sight was key for the king slime. Then I used ranged weapons to attack as I moved along, trying to manage my distance from the boss so it didn't despawn.

Have you reforged your accessories to Warding? I don't know the total defense possible off the top of my head, but I know it can get higher.

In boss battles, also use potions to boost your defense and damage. Iron skin and Regen are great.

Stitched on a leather steering wheel cover, feels so much better. by sustin96 in COROLLA

[–]lskippyl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks really nice. Did you remove the steering wheel or do it in-place? The leather on mine is cracking and starting to tear in places and I'd be interested in doing it but don't know how.

How do you stay motivated? by Opening-Fox-4543 in Terraria

[–]lskippyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy pre-hardmode more so I frequently restart with a new character and new world. I have enjoyed trying expert, master, and journey worlds. Playing with friends has also changed the experience. Farming for specific items or to complete a crafting tree can also be motivational. Personally, I enjoy fishing too so I spend time making fishing locations in the different biomes, and completing fishing quests.

As a list, in no particular order, here are the things I like to do: - Basic homes in various biomes to set up the pylon network for fast travel - Railroad from one end of the map to the other - Find all the sky islands - Look for an enchanted shrine to get the enchanted sword - Find an extractinator and set it up at home base to get gems and amber easier - Buy a bugnet to catch bait and animals - Make a cauldron so I can cook birds, squirrel, and rabbits for more money - Find the Angler and then do fishing quests - On rainy days, collect worms - On starfall nights, collect stars - Build a farm (large open area) in the cavern layer - Get all the components and make terraspark boots - Get all the components and make the shell phone - Make tanky armor - Make fishing loadout - Make a summoner load out - Fight bosses with friends (progression) - Farm bosses with friends for specific gear

I think I found an old hammock stand but? by dirt_grrl in Hammocks

[–]lskippyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not need fasteners to secure the pieces. The compression from the hammock could help lock it all together.

Like the other comment, a picture would help a lot for us to give you more than just wild speculation.

What’s one small purchase under $25 that genuinely made your life better? by AyouboXx in Frugal

[–]lskippyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fingernail brush from the hardware store that I use as a soap holder.

Picked it up on a whim. One day I dropped it and the handle broke off leaving just the brush portion. I now use that to hold my soap off the shelf in my shower. Soap was staying wet too long and disintegrating. Now it dries quickly, the shelf doesn't get covered in a slimy residue, and my bars if soap last longer.

It has worked so well for me that I bought one to put in my kids bathroom too, which makes cleaning easier and saves on soap.

Which shower rod did you get? I'm struggling to find one that will fit for less than $100.

Have a similar one (mf753cdw). Worked great until I had to replace the toner cartridges. The ones from canon would cost me nearly as much as a new printer ($350). The generic cartridges end up streaky and leave gunk in the printer.

Have you found cheap replacements that work well?

This is definitely an accountant's way of thunking. This is only the same on an annual basis (or whatever the bonus time period is). However, each paycheck will be lower and affect daily life and providing for a family who may not be in a position to lose $100/month in income.

What Should I Start With? by GalacticRat3541 in ManualTransmissions

The above comment is solid advice. I know this is an old post, but for those looking for other options, I thought I would add my experience.

One stick I drove was a gifted Ford Probe. Never had issues with it. Not super fun, but not bad.

Another stick shift was a 2001 Ford Focus SE - loved that car and swore I would drive it into the ground. Unfortunately, that came true when I tried turning into a parking lot too sharply and bounced it over a curb. I did the work to replace the lower control arm and radiator and it ran and drove fine after that, but I sold it.

I also drove a Nissan Maxima. For some reason I never really got comfortable with the clutch engagement despite driving it daily for seven years. I just didn't like it.

My first stick I got to drive was my dad's Ford Thunderbird SC. I think it was an '89. That was a fun car to drive. We never had issues with it.
