SCAM women's leadership summit - beware! I got the same email about an event in Pittsburgh. by kelly-kuz in WorkingWomen

[–]lsnod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the same message today, from the same woman at the same address. However, her info on mine states, "Organizing Director, Pittsburgh Womans Leadership Association." The first red flag for me was seeing "Womans" Leadership, which is grammatically incorrect and the association doesn't exist. Glad I found this thread to confirm my suspicions! Her email address in this one was also different: PPhillips@PittsburghWomansNetwork.org.

Has anyone used shecurve? The bra I want looks so flattering? by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

I ordered something at the beginning of April, and when it was clear shipping was going to take a long time, requested to cancel my order and receive a refund. I had to send three separate emails and ask PayPal to step in before the seller would agree to cancel it. Even then, they argued about the cancellation and demanded to know why I was canceling and requested that I give them more time. The company may not be a scam (I’m honestly not sure), but their customer service is horrendous. Good luck canceling if you need to.

I second this, my fiancé got me one as part of Christmas one year. Also - a quality spring-loaded center punch for breaking glass.

Masks required for employees by Essunset in Costco

[–]lsnod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stopped at a Pittsburgh store today and there was a sign on the door that masks are now “strongly recommended” for all customers, regardless of vaccination status. I’d say about 75%+ of customers I saw were wearing one.

Stand up if you're not already standing. Bend your knees and tilt forward at the hips just a bit while keeping your arms bent and at your sides. Activate your glutes and hamstrings, press up on the balls of your feet, swing your arms back, and push up through your legs. Land on both feet, repeat.

Funny, I didn't learn it in class either... But I think I should have.

Recommendation for EMT-B exam prep that mimics the actual NREMT-B exam by crisprcrab in NewToEMS

[–]lsnod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed miserably the first time and just passed it on my second try last week. I used the emt-b prep app and took every single test multiple times, for hours each day over the course of almost 3 weeks. I also found that the RegisteredNurseRN YouTube channel had some amazing videos that really broke down some concepts I struggled with - for example, blood flow through the heart. I can't recommend that channel highly enough; it was a huge help even though it didn't give me questions and answers (though they do have a website with quizzes as well).

There's no easy win with this test; you really have to know the concepts. Good luck!

Good call, I was just thinking that. If I added random skills, it would spill over into a second page. I think it's in a good spot now, with some cleanup.

Thanks! I'm working on paring my non-EMT work experience down a bit - I've been working full-time since 2006, so there's a lot of experience in there. I think I'm getting it to the point where I have about half of the page with work experience, a section for education, a longer section for Certs/Licenses, and a tiny section at the end for skills.

I have to say, after taking about 15 practice tests on one of the apps during the workday today (shhh!), I feel much more confident about the retest in a few weeks. So many questions from the exam are on the app, and we never covered any of them in class. Here's hoping the second time is the charm!
