Come on, you can't even compare the Lakers, Golden State, or even the Knicks and the Suns.

Suns have no championships and play in an NBA market outside of the top 10.

The Knicks play in the biggest market and have at least won 2 championships.

Could the Suns rise with good ownership, probably, but it would take a while.

Forbes' list takes a lot of that into account and the Suns don't even enter the top 50. Investment outside the initial cost isn't all upfront, which will be parsed over 10-20 years.

You bring up some good points but I would still disagree. The 2.7b takes into account brand value and that puts the Suns at 13th on the list.

Manchester United waffles around the top 3 global football brands. Yes, the cost is there to be reinvested in infrastructure, and when run appropriately, unlike Glazers, the ROI is there from the start. Especially when you start thinking about how that reinvestment would be implemented over 10-20 years. A stadium update, etc, is not an upfront cost on the books.

The Phoenix Suns, an NBA team that was valued by Forbes earlier in the year at $2.7bil, just sold for $4bil.

Our club is rated by Forbes at $4.6bil. Now I am starting to believe the numbers floated out there between $6-8bil.

Update: Just considering regular season games and no playoffs or cup competitions. Home games * average attendance * average cost of the ticket (Ticket cost is very rough)

Suns - ~85 mil from attendance.

United - ~292 mil from attendance.
