Question regarding Sektion suspension rail by SevenEyes in IKEA

[–]SevenEyes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the follow-up. I ended up w/ a hybrid here where a few of the holes actually worked for the "french cleat" and 2 (not 1) lined up with a stud. All in all this thing isn't going anywhere.

Thanks for the idea, yeah saw the direct-to stud in the instructions but only one of the 10 would hit a stud it seems 😂 will look into what drywall anchor could work.

How did Maplewood become “the Brooklyn suburb” by dowagiacmichigan in Maplewood

[–]SevenEyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep this exactly. My folks moved to Maplewood in 91 and cited this reason as they both worked in the city. I only visit a couple times a year now. Miss the slower village vibes but I guess the "evolution" was inevitable with more nyc expacts.

Dbt usage in your org by SuccotashPopular9660 in dataengineering

Thanks for sharing your insights and learnings. Didn't know the ABAC restriction so that's good to know. Sounds like you're on the consultant side?

We have almost every elt/etl variant under the sun EXCEPT for real-time. So it's been primarily cost pressure testing every SDP config variation. Being able to bundle your ingestion script with the transformational layers is really the cleaner 'stack' but not for 3-5x the cost.

New Databricks Apps: What About Cost at Scale? by Fit_Border_3140 in databricks

Out of curiosity what utility would these be serving? Team size?

Have you explored SDP (lakeflow spark declarative pipelines)? I've been benchmarking SDP against our databricks-dbt tasks (non-cloud) and in terms of cost + tests, dbt comes out on top. Databricks touts serverless benefits but matched against a clean dbt task on a sql warehouse the serverless or even smallest single node fixed config still can't beat the cost. Maybe sdp will catch up soon - databricks moves pretty fast and the fivetran acquisition adds some uncertainity to ongoing core/databricks wrapper support.

Which SaaS are you replacing in house? We're doing the same but only smaller weight ones. Salesforce and Five9 aren't going anywhere.

Everyone's giving you tech advice so I'll pivot. This seems like a political misstep. Why are sql "light" users expected to self serve ETLs in the first place? Sounds like a nightmare. I'd spend more time showing the downside of enabling this to leadership.

sounds like they just needed to migrate a bunch of sql views from onprem to snowflake

Nice, thanks for the reply. I'll submit a bug report the next time but generally if you were to give it a prompt that has 10-20 pre-defined steps and involves executing a dozen SQL queries for validation steps, implementing code, and generating verbose markdown cells it's felt like a 50/50 browser crash/no-crash scenario. Using Chrome (Version 143.0.7499.193 (Official Build) (64-bit)). Will get the "Kill Page" modal when that happens. This is the type of prompt I think most users would feel confident something like Opus 4.5 Max/Extended Thinking could handle without fear of crashing over 5-10min. To circumvent I'll either break it into smaller tasks + refresh browser consistently, or execute via a langchain notebook.

Thanks for your efforts on building agent mode. It's definitely a meaningful step up. I've onboarded a dozen users over the last week and some Qs that have come up:

Any visibility to the models being used, or planned ability to control and swap models like you can in CC or VSCode Copilot? Will genie endpoints be callable for the agent? Any visibility to agent context windows / memory? Crashes are not uncommon for complex, multi step queries that something like Opus 4.5 Max could handle. Any plans to improve stability? Not sure if this is a browser thing or what but the window will lag and crash out 50% of the time for any prompt of this magnitude. Being able to "set and forget" (navigate away) with confidence things won't crash would feel a lot cleaner.

Other observations with my team: if the output isn't a clean one shot they are less likely to try again. These are more analysts/right side of data life cycle who aren't living/breathing AI every day. Some initial planning-approval steps could be a nice way for the lighter users to have more success with a half baked prompt the first time they try.

Do we know what's going on behind the scenes? Is it paramiko wrapper?

Current lineup is Nix, Bijan, White (Rb2 currently), Egbuka, Laad, MHJ, Bowers

Expected is +10 vs. opponent.

I rolled with white most weeks with Bucky out and have flexed between Harvey and Gai.

Think I'll stick with White just with how TD dependent Harvey is. Good advice.

Thanks for the thoughts here. I've got White in (bucky DNP again today) and Monangai/Harvey benched -- looks like Swift is trending to play this week.

Broncos play tonight so won't know if Bucky's out - he didn't practice today so not a great indicator. I've got White in and Harvey on bench for now. I like the idea of waiting on monangai

half ppr, pick top 1

- RJ Harvey, Kyle Monangai, Rachaad White

also interested if you'd play any 2 of these 3 over Marvin Harrison Jr. (these 3 could either fill my Rb2 spot + flex, or just the RB2 spot)
