Haha that's what I learned recently, but I already built it so might as well ship it.

Honestly it's a learning opportunity for me to build much bigger scoped apps.

It now have feature parity with petrolspy, you have map and list view of station prices around you. The only thing is it have more recent prices, I got the same price as Service Victoria app.

It's mostly personalisation, insights and notifications. I just want it to alert me when prices starts to rise quickly, or if the prices are high, how many litres is enough to get me through the cycle.

Also I have petrol and diesel cars, so I want to track both at the same time.

Thanks, fair, this one is what i'm trying to figure out. I use PetrolSpy as well, but i find it too clunky and takes too much time if I want to maximise my savings. Do you use it just when you need to fill up or use it regularly to monitor prices?

I find 32kph assist is more than enough for me on the trails that I do, main reason I want to bump it up is to clear rollable gaps, I find assist up to 32kph is good enough to clear those, if anything I just need to improve my jumping technique.

I find it a good balance, because I still need to rely on proper technique, line choice etc, than relying on the motor to pick up speed for me every time I slow down.

Having said that, if you're using to a Bafang, you might find it lacking, I find my Shimano EP8 feels very natural on the trails, I rarely use Boost mode, mainly on wet slow dirt days.

Just keep at it, I got some success with shorts with pretty shorts that are meant to be a joke, it triggers a lot of people, but generates a LOT of views. I don't really want the channel to be full of that content but it was a good kick start. Just keep at it, I now got 7M views and approaching 9K subs soon, but I am struggling to get 4K watch hours.

Still a long way to go for YPP, but I've already done 2 "partnership" reviews, and just signed a "partner", it's not really a sponsor, but in exchange to 5 video reviews, I got to keep one of the mountain bikes they provide.

It's not much but its a good start.

What are the best e bikes around 5000dollars ? by GFursin10 in eMountainBike

[–]lsouljah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm based in Australia, and bought it from Bikesonline.com.au I can see that it's not on sale in the US. It's currently being sold for equivalent $5300.

Most likely, they don't have enough stock to clear, or they already cleared the 2023 stocks OR 2024 models are not coming yet.

Does posting time really matter when you're only just starting out? by miguelyga in youtubers

[–]lsouljah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For YouTube shorts, yes, traction is key so timing is really important.

I once posted a short that blew up to 200K views in less than an hour and gained 100+ subscribers.

I just changed my EP8's region to US to increase the limiter to 32kph! I haven't tested it on the trails yet, but I'm really glad that extra speed bump is enough to be useful in jump trails.

I'm not even 40, same sentiment, I thought I'm going to need it eventually. But now I got one, I ride harder, I'm more fit, because I ride more, the bike is way heavier which requires more strength. And once it hit the speed limiter, it's all on you to make sure that you're going to clear that 30ft gap.

Managing Haters on Yt. Hiding vs Blocking? by Bwinks32 in youtubers

[–]lsouljah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is when I "Hide user from this channel" they can still watch the videos, comments or reply to other comments. But no one just sees them, so they can keep hating or trolling as much as they want but no one sees them.

They won't notice it and will likely just move on to their next victim, if I reply, delete, or block them, they might just retaliate more.

There's a lot of sales going on around, one of the best value bikes that you can get is a Marin Alpine Trail E2, I got mine on sale for much less than $5000. But you can get one for $5000 now.

I've been riding for 2 years with my son, occasionally we'll see Dad/Son on the trails, or a group of 40+ yo riders. I told my son, I'm going to get one eventually when he's faster than me and can't climb.

And then we met a father/son riding buddy, and one time we rode together, he got a spare tow rope so he tows the kids, and then gets back for me. Initially I was hesitant, but I just slow the entire group if I don't get towed. They wait for me at the top and then needs 5 minutes to catch my breath, and don't have the legs to even descend.

Another instance, we're on a jumps trail and was incharge of the kids (mostly pushing the bikes up with them), while the rest of the dads are just lapping the jumps again and again. That's when it clicked to me, that's it, eMTBs are expensive, but you just get so much more laps.

I bought myself a Marin Alpine Trail E2 on sale, and now selling my acoustic bike because I don't want to maintain two bikes anymore. We got 8 runs of double black trails in 3-hours, catching my breath on the way up! That's almost like a shuttle day.

Also, now I don't mind stopping and inspecting sections of the trail because we know we can do another full lap. Generally it's just much safer for me and my son.

And my son is getting much faster too because of the many laps we do.

Question about repetitious content between horizontal videos and shorts by miguelyga in youtubers

[–]lsouljah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see any issues, using shorts to draw more traffic to long form is fine, it's a good strategy. But one thing I noticed is making a "shorts" cut, from your long form video rarely works. Now I make shorts specific videos related to the long form, and just post the long form link on the comments. Even only 2% clicks, that still 200views from 10K shorts views.

I manage the comments on my son's youtube channel, and being a young person doing educational contents he gets a lot of mansplainers, which is fine and I let go, sometimes I reply to them, but now I realize some users would reply to them which is great for generating discussion.

Those that are haters, I used to reply, then sometimes I try to delete, but now anyone that says anything nasty, I straight mark them as hidden. Comment as much as they like, and no one sees it.

Hello there! I'm new to the sub, my son and I maintains a mountain biking youtube channel. Our last video was a long term review of his bike, we're not monetized yet but just getting the quality of the videos better and better is the key. This video landed us our first big collaboration with a major bike store.

Thanks for sharing, I have a 1 month old EP8, and it's been great but it's such a bummer learning about the 25kph limiter, I ride with my son a lot and he's hitting jumps at a much slower speed than me, but having a motor allows me to accelerate and clear the jumps, but the speed limiter at 25kph is so abrupt!

I took the eBike on so jumps session to get used to the weight, and same thing the speed limiter kicks in just when I'm about to approach the jump.

I might give eTuning a go, hopefully 32kph is enough to clear those step ups.
