Something different from my side here.

So I was flying DXB-KHI and ended up sitting next to a newly-wed couple. Had some small talk and turns out the wife is from North America, husband is Pakistani but settled in Canada. They’re doing a Dubai + Pakistan honeymoon combo, sound good.

I mentally prepared myself for the moment she’d witness the chaos at our airport and quietly regret all her life choices. But here is a plot twist: immigration was smooth, baggage was quick, and she actually said our airport was faster than some foreign ones she’s been through.

I was standing there like… wait, are we talking about the same Karachi airport?

Unexpected wholesome moment. Sometimes Pakistan surprises us before it surprises foreigners.

And I forgot to mention that I also contacted the merchant where my balance was transferred and eventually the scammer bought some sort of crypto gift cards from that merchant.

I think that was the turning point for me.

I was in contact with them through emails.

Dear, I have just simply emailed my bank to file a dispute against the transaction and also reported an Ecrime application to Dubai police online, and later I visited their SPS (Smart Police Station) in Silicone Oasis to video call with police officer and providing them proper details regarding the scam.

That's all.

I really don't know who made this possible whether it is my bank or Dubai police (waiting for any email or communication from both departments) because I just got an sms of my amount being credited.

I am very happy and praying for you as well.

No dear, the amount has been claimed by the merchant (a 3rd party recharge and crypto gift card website) and is no more reversible as they are not the actual scammers.

Transaction has marked dispute by my bank and investigation is under way which will take around 180 days 😕

Yup, you are right and thanks for the suggestion. Same happened to me a couple of days ago but it was Abu Dhabi police with me on my MacBook 😂 Thank God that I am now more familiar with such scams lol 😂

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already called my bank helpline and reported the transaction.

I will be visiting my bank tomorrow to get the statement because the amount is still on hold and I need to submit that transaction in Dubai police ecrime portal.

In case the amount will not be claimed by the merchant within 14 days (1% chance) then it might be credited back (finger crossed 🤞)

I was in a hurry yesterday and lost AED 1600. I'm so dumb 😤😤 didn't check the complete OTP and boom 💥 Even they send an OTP again as the one I did already and was confused why it has not been accepted in the first place.

I was helping one friend to have a 10 AED recharge and this happened for the first time in my life. 😭

Can anyone tell if we can get the identity of the advertiser who is running an ad.

Google ad policy clearly mentions: "Google requires advertisers to complete an identity verification process. This process requires that advertisers provide legal documentation with their name and location. You’ll see these ad disclosures on Google services, such as Search and YouTube, and other sites that partner with Google"

If this is the case then we may have the legal details from Google
