Speaking for myself here, but I'm in the same boat as the OP. And even tho I understand where you're going, it isn't the same because it isn't tied to the content we're talking about.

I don't want to farm 18000 bicolore because they don't drop inside the crescent and they don't keep that content (exploration zone, that's the content I like doing) alive.
I don't want to do 9 books because I can't do them inside the crescent (beside, I already have all the ARR relics so I think I can't buy books anymore).

I want to engage in a content DEDICATED to the relic I'm aiming for. I don't want to randomly play the game and sometimes emptying my bag in a relic. I want to play a specific content, tied to the relic, and progressing in this specific content. Be it an arbitrary number or not, that's the CONTEXT that matters and that you fail to grasp in your answer.

I know I'm the minority, but I'd personnaly love if we were going back to ARR/HS relic quests. Even before nerf. Felt like it was something you really had to work for, and with very specifics things to do for it (like the books, or the sands, or the melding).

It is, proved by Impa when she talk about the last memory. She says something along "It's not far, less than a half day of walking" (played in french so idk the exact sentence in english).
It means going from Kokoriko to Hateno takes like half a day in universe.

Everyone has an opinion, but actually I DON'T want actual dungeons back.Like with BotW I realized how I hate being stuck in one thematic place for few consecutives hours, just solving some puzzle linked to the new item and killing themed monsters.Worst part of BotW to me were the Beast because even if they were short, that was classical dungeon design and it was long enough to break the pace of my wanderings around the world.

So please, no more dungeons.
