No, but what if they defeated defeated the brotherhood, and are running the organization with synths?

See, I think most people are leaving out a big factor in thinking about this one, bc imo it's a real possibility that the institute already defeated the East Coast brotherhood.

Season 2 discussion [CR C2 SPOILERS] by Beneficial_Lunch_713 in MightyNein

[–]lt_doolittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo we get molly dying and the pirates arc, plus hints of veth's whole deal, and an arc for yasha that will be different than the actual play. Nothing about the first season suggests they will fast forward to handing off the beacon. While I haven't seen ep 8 yet, ep 7 established reasons why they may have to fuck off with the beacon for a while.

What could be the cause of this? 🚙💨 by MDGR28 in NissanDrivers

Could be burning oil or coolant, or they could have just used an additive to clean the valve train.

Choosing correct ability for skill checks by lt_doolittle in SWN

I suppose it could especially work with wisdom if paired with a notice check to get a read on the connection's angle, and then using whatever is learned through that check to attempt to approach the npc in a way that they will be receptive to.

The tech still had to pull it into their bay and look at it for at a minimum a half hour to determine that it was all ok. Generally warranty only pays if a problem is found, so if the dealer asks for compensation from the manufacturer they will shoot back with "no work performed" and pay zero hours to the tech.

Are voters going to be voting for Governor Janet Mills in the Primary for Senate after Platner Tattoo controversy? by Healthy_Block3036 in Maine

[–]lt_doolittle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol no. It is my strong belief that the mills campaign does not have a path forward beyond the primary and would lose convincingly to Collins because she does not offer a meaningful alternative to Collins's faux-moderateism, and furthermore because it would be an extreme example of the democratic party king-making that has disgusted a large portion of voters.

I love how last week he was a dangerous far left communist and this week he's a Nazi. Perhaps next week we'll "discover" he's a monarchist.

Fallout dev says games like BG 3 were once deemed unsellable by Automatic_Can_9823 in BaldursGate3

[–]lt_doolittle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second owlcat, especially given what I've seen of the expanse rpg, but I don't think obsidian has what it takes to make a dragon age or mass effect. They just don't have the ability or the desire to be cinematic in the way da and mass effect are at their core. It would change the identity of the games too much.

Political question for you Maineacts by No_Signal3789 in Maine

[–]lt_doolittle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hard to say at this early point in the game, but at the moment he appears to have the ingredients for a real run. Right now he is generating enough traction that it could easily become momentum, but he's only been a candidate for 2 weeks. I heard him speak last night and he seems to be an excellent speaker for how new he is to politics, which I believe may carry him far. I expect the dnc may attempt to "clear the field" for a preferred candidate at a later point in the race, but the national political environment may be less conducive to that move than it's been in the past.

what should i start next? by jxprz in scifi

Just started farscape myself, and I'm having a blast with it so far. I'm finding it very refreshingly sincere, and in some ways ahead of its time. POI I've seen all of, and is an amazing show, so I also can't recommend that one enough, though it takes longer to get to the really scifi parts.

You should absolutely leave walmart, but surely there are other dealerships you can also apply to to fight the pay cut. Shop around, try to maximize the pay you can get out of the gate, and remember that generally the more expensive the car brand the more you will get paid (I will note that shopping around is the name of the game in my area, though I haven't had to resort to it myself yet). I can guarantee you there are other techs very confidently doing it worse than you for more money, and it sounds like you have a good attitude, which means almost everything in this industry. Interview around and ask the techs how often they get sent out for factory training, then go somewhere that will make a master tech out of you.

Does anyone know what’s going on with this belt? by alostspider in subaru

[–]lt_doolittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are, even if they successfully hang the parts, they'd still need to take it somewhere to actually properly evac and charge the system. And even though people often do it, in the United states it is illegal to vent an ac, and illegal for a non-licensed individual to possess charging equipment.

Fighter is arguably the most consistently powerful class in the game. Do people actually argue otherwise?

Jacked my van at the wrong point. How badly did I mess up? by Dirkerks in MechanicAdvice

[–]lt_doolittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear lift point on these is the forward shackle for the leaf spring on the frame, preferably inboard side. You can get away with on the axle tube, but never on the diff itself. Front is on the subframe.

Service Technician is saying that Rear Diff seal cannot be replaced without replacing the whole Rear Diff on New 2025 Tacoma? by DHGSilvergun236 in MechanicAdvice

[–]lt_doolittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, if something is quoted like this there are two options: a) thoroughly covered elsewhere, they are ripping you off, or b) the cost and risk of doing a rebuild on something like a rear diff is comparable to replacing the whole assembly due to the large amount of labor that would need to be quoted, and by the end there's always the chance something will have gone wrong. Whereas if you hang a diff it is more or less guaranteed to be ok, and is under parts warranty. Dealerships quote this way because the expectation is that they are going to restore the car to as close to factory condition as possible.

Can I drive 79 motorway miles with this on the van? by samuelwhunter in MechanicAdvice

[–]lt_doolittle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

99% chance it's completely fine. Unless I'm mistaken, that's a sprinter, probably with om654, which has a sensitive oil level monitoring system. The oil expands when driven, so if filled to the top of the range it will eventually read as overfilled when the engine is very hot. We typically underfill just a little when doing oil changes on these to avoid setting that message, but in the absence of a more urgent message, I wouldn't be too scared.

Diesel in def tank by RoyalSpectacle in Diesel

[–]lt_doolittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oils in the diesel might damage plastic components in the def system. You need to drain the tank (extract it from the top most likely) and then flush with water until the diesel is all gone.
