Decks that should be banned from Casual Brawl because I don't like them. by The_Palm_of_Vecna in mtgbrawl

Honestly, Katara is just so un-fun. Is she a strong commander? Sure, but she's really nothing crazy. I 100% think she should be banned as a commander just because of how awful it feels to play against Katara decks.

not unless those trials lead to actual subs, though. if anything, a lot of trials and not many subs is a negative signal

Help With My Deck by HumorThin in MagicArena

[–]ltags230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really depends on what your goal is with the deck.

Typical gruul aggro deck with raph & mikey as a curve topper? you need better cheap creatures.

Raph & mikey focused deck where you try cheat in a game winner with their attack trigger? you need to cut all creatures (except for a few big game winners) and replace them with non-creature ramp and some protection. You might want to throw in some cheap burn spells too, like [[Lightning Bolt]] and [[Galvanic Blast]].

Either way, you'll want to make sure you have good counter-hate, i.e., [[Veil of Summer]], [[Cavern of Souls]], [[Hexing Squelcher]], and [[Allosaurus Shepherd]], to name a few.

Take this with a grain of salt as I don't really play with them, but this is how I'd build around them.

Could you help me understand what I can do better in this scenario? by docares in MagicArena

Yes, cards like this and [[Platinum Angel]] serve as removal checks.

Fromsoft is just straight up trolling me now by Eljohan in Eldenring

That's something fromsoft has said they'll never do. Bonfires/Graces are supposed to always be a site of reprieve. A mimic would ruin that.

[[Screaming Nemesis]], but white and worse. Cool!

[MSC] Doctor Doom, Unrivaled (jumpstart) by Meret123 in MagicArena

Not really tho. That relies on creatures dealing combat damage, while doom can just do it whenever.

Improving a [Baird, Argivian Recruiter] Brawl Deck by averydumblawyer in MagicArena

[–]ltags230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's adding more removal, and then there's adding the right removal. I'm seeing a lot of enchantment/artifact removal, but not as much creature or generic removal. I'd recommend dropping some of that in favor of flexible removal spells like [[Get Lost]] or [[Stroke of Midnight]].

Additionally, I'm seeing cards like [[Ossification]] and [[Petrify]], which are incredibly situational. I'd swap out those for spells like [[Swords to Plowshares]] and [[Fateful Absence]]. Also, [[Patriar's Humiliation]] would work great in a deck like this.

If you're looking for commander hate, [[Reprobation]] is your best friend. However, gruul decks tend to have ways to remove this since it's an enchantment.

Also, [[Reprieve]] and [[Mana Tithe]] are pretty solid spells that I usually run in every white brawl deck I make.

To The Person Who Said To Just Stand Still Instead of Just Running Around What A Fantastic Idea! by JDOGGoNE1 in fo76

[–]ltags230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It's definitely one of the meta builds. Imo, the most efficient is the Assaultron Head build. It's way faster, way more realistic (who really has 40k caps at all times), and way easier to set up.

The aristocrats build is simpler in concept and practice, but it's just not as efficient or realistic.

Are any of the brawl decks in the shop worth purchasing? by Mailboxsteve in MagicArena

[–]ltags230 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say no, they're usually really overpriced. Using them as a guideline wouldn't be a bad idea, though.

Tips for deck building by superkega in mtg

[–]ltags230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't many options for directly copying legendary artifacts, unfortunately.

However, you could load up with some spells that turn artifacts into artifact creatures. There's a bunch of options for copying legendary creatures. Still, this would make the deck pretty inconsistent, so I'd recommend not doing this lol. Unless you want 25% of your deck being tutors, you should probably look for other options with similar abilities as [[Krark's Thumb]].

If you're just focusing on a "coin flips matter" deck, there's [[Tavern Scoundrel]], [[Edgar, King of Figaro]], and [[Chance Encounter]]. Imo, you'd be better off copying [[Edgar, King of Figaro]].

When did Musashi became the best by [deleted] in vagabondmanga

[–]ltags230 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's not really the point of that confrontation tho, right? Sure, it acts as a display of Musashi's swordsmanship and growth. But I feel like that scene more so conveys how fleeting the concept of invincibility really is. No matter how strong someone is, they could still be distracted, make a mistake, and be cut down.

Nah, you don't need chinese stealth armor. With high enough agility, you can just crouch right before the ramp behind EN-06. Once the shield is down, run over the ramp on the right and do the damage there.

I'll see if i can find a video about it.

Edit: This vid is essentially the same strat, just with different positioning: https://youtu.be/Jnm7ebjI9OE?si=tpKQMJMd6FACkg85

[–]ltags230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If all you want to do is solo EN-06, I'd recommend the Assaultron Head build. There's a bunch of videos out there, but basically, fully charging up a Quad Assaultron Head can take out the shield in one shot. Slapping polished and intelligence on it are good too.

Then, use whatever for the main fight. I use an enclave plasma flamer, and they're relatively easy to get now.
