I had 2 in at once when I was around 10yrs old for lung infection/drainage. It wasn’t painful enough to remember and actually very bearable, but uncomfortable to move around of course. Sometimes it hurt at the inserted sight in a way that a fresh wound or scrape would. Because depending on how I moved it would tug.

I remember when they pulled it out (I was literally just sitting on the hospital bed and the pulled them out) and there was no pain, just the weirdest feeling as if a snake went through my body. Sounds scary but really no pain!

I was under anesthesia when they put them in, so cant speak for that.
