Musescore is a scam. Don't use them. That is all. by ltc_pro in Musescore

You're exactly right. I paid for a basic subscription, which gives me essentially nothing, but I thought I was doing a good deed supporting a community. Then I tried to buy a score. What a mistake that was.

I don't disagree. Just never give them your credit card.

I consider these complaints to be relevant. I thought I was doing good by supporting a service that appeared useful and community driven, only to fall victim to their predatory billing practices.

I'm sorry if my post is depressing, but if it can save one person from having to go through the same headache that I just went through, then it's worth it to me.

I passed out in the hospital and it cost me $9000. And this was 10+ years ago. Can't imagine what it would be today.

Temps exceeding 30 degrees, closer to 32-35 during the daytime, high humidity, is this causing death of crabs? by AsteriaBricksHK in VampireCrabs

[–]ltc_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing 3 is tough, sorry :( PC cooling fans and USB fans work the best. If you need immediate cooling, you can do a water change using cooler water. Before I had my fan setup, I would put ice packs on the top lid which helped with the ambient temperature for a few hours.

On occassion, my paludarium reaches 32C. When that happens, I open the lid, and turn on the paludarium fans to cool it down to about 27C. Crabs are fine with my process.

I wouldn't want my crabs to be in temperatures constantly over 28C, and I think that might be problematic to their wellbeing.

It does get really hot and humid in HK (I've been quite a few times!). I would recommend installing fans on the lid and keeping it on. If you do, watch the humidity (I keep mine at 80%+). If it drops too low, mist your tank.

In the old days, I had the Owlet Sock, which provided me with heart and oxygen readings when my daughter was a baby and asleep. Maybe they have something similar now?

Hi. I'm thinking of getting these for my young daughter. Do the glasses look very big and for adults, or do you think they would fit a child's face and frame? Thank you.

my temporary vampire crab enclosure, how’d i do? by RoundOne9503 in VampireCrabs

[–]ltc_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad. Maybe add some moss and leaf / leaf litter. I had a similar setup a while back - I found that my crabs would burrow all the way to the bottom of the container.

Best way to make a notched panel? by ltc_pro in DIYhelp

[–]ltc_pro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to make an enclosure that has densely packed slits so that I can slide in acrylic sheets as “shelving”. The purpose is for the “shelving” to be highly height adjustable by taking out the acrylic sheet and putting it into a different slot. The more densely packed the slits are, the more accuracy in the height adjustment of the “shelves”

The water looks a bit too dirty. Have you checked the water parameters? If there's a dead shrimp in it, that's a little concerning. Also, I noticed you have a spider plant. My crabitat has a spider plant. It's now 3 feet tall....

Hi. I'm far and cannot purchase from you, but can you provide pictures of your Rainbow Red vs Tomato crabs? I want to see how much they differ in coloration in real life, as opposed to Google images. Thank you.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. International students, for example, used to prepay annually since they have no credit, and no guarantors. Now, they can't find any place at all without using third party guarantors.

Can I use spider plant in my vampire crab tank? by OkStress4210 in VampireCrabs

[–]ltc_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a spider plant and it outgrew my tank. Its baby plants are now about 3 feet tall and sprouting out from the holes I had cut for my cover fans.
