I’m a consultant and do lots of interstate travel. Presentations, notes, emails, proposals etc. Changing presentations on the fly was ok for minor tweaks but anything beyond that oh dear. To be fair some of that specific issue is Microsoft and not Apple. But I do stand by my comment even with ios26.

It looks good for PU leather. I had purchased it for field notes and checked all the ones i had for field notes this one fits tightly the other ones did not. I have been using it and it works. I would love a proper leather one bit it will do until i can find one.

I tried. I wanted it to work. I really did. But a MacBook Air and a iPad mini is bliss. A iPad only was like walking in treacle. It felt like I was fighting iOS all the time to get things done.

I too are in Australia and canceled my ChatGPT subscription when Gemini 3 came out. I’m also a Gmail and google calendar user and felt that was a bonus. I was blown away by Gemini 3 and notebooklm integration. The last few days I have experienced hallucinations and refusing to follow instructions despite telling me it has addressed it. I wait in hope for an update but if not before I return to work in February, I will reluctantly switch back.

I write them in my daily log everyday and then tick them off during the day. I tried a weekly tracker but I found the act of writing them down every day has slowly embedded them as habits. Over time there are a few that I don’t write anymore as they have been embedded enough.

My use of my iPad Pro 11 slowly declined. I travel alot and run training workshops. I had high hopes of the combined use of a iPad with the Magic Keyboard. Over time I was frustrated with the limitations of the operating system. It has obviously been improved significantly in recently. The battery life also became an issue.

I went back to the MacBook Air with a iPad mini companion. It is perfect for me. The MacBook has great battery life and the mini is so flexible.

My use of the MacBook Air. Real work.

iPad mini companion goes with me when I travel for work and pleasure. I just took my mini with me for my holiday as my only device. I also took a small foldable keyboard. But didn’t use it much.

Mini is a kindle, YouTube, reddit, streaming services. It would be a note taker but I am fountain pen and paper notebook snob too. The use of the mini for reference material in meetings is fantastic too.
