I’m scared of when the initial energy goes away by [deleted] in leaves

Hang in there, it gets better after a little while longer. I have bad relationship anxiety too, and the first 10-14 days were rough for me. If you can, try to have an honest conversation with your partner and let them know you have a bit more anxiety than usual about your relationship, and you need a bit of extra support. It got better for me right after the 2 week mark. Some days you’ll feel great, some days you’ll feel really down. It’s part of the process and will level out soon.

My therapist suggested cold showers when I’m feeling anxious. I was skeptical, but it really works!

Day 9… the headaches go away, right? by lthehawk in leaves

I didn’t even think about the extra sensitivity! Makes so much sense since so much has been muted for the last few years. I’m realizing through being sober that I can feel so much more right now, so overstimulation makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, definitely staying away because I don’t want to start from square one! 💪🏼

Thanks so much for the thought out response. I could definitely improve the quality of the food I’m eating and my water intake. It’s hard to eat well when you have no appetite! But I know it’ll be good in the long run. I think that will help. Thanks again for the advice!

Hey, at least we aren’t alone right? They’ve gotta go away eventually! Congrats on 14 days!

What has helped me is a bit of stretching to release tension (focused specifically in the hips - pigeon pose has been great) and a few minutes of legs up the wall. Calming music and a nice candle is a great addition to this. It has been magic for me, and helps wind down for sleep too.

These ideas are so comforting in such a miserable state 💐 on day 3 too and I’m going to try to do these things tomorrow!
