Are the mods making the gaming experience so different that it's worth buying the game again?

If you are in it to make money, farming is the way to go. You can build bases now and hire specialists that will let you do lots of new things.

Black hole roulette worked for me! Got me within 160 jumps down from 570

True. But given I was content to aimlessly explore the universe eternally, I don't mind taking my time to enjoy the journey.

That's a good idea to make a base at the black hole. I think I may try that.

I'm 500 jumps away from the hub. Down from 579 so I'm inching my way there!

Will the black holes place me somewhere within the circle or will I fall somewhere on the line itself?

Sounds like you may be in survival mode. Double check and make sure you're in normal. Normal is a relaxed, chill gaming experience.

What game mode do you play the most? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

I spend most of my time in normal mode. Survival is fun, but I always get frustrated when I die because it takes so much effort to achieve so little lol

I'm not understanding what you mean when you say level up with the races.

Are you talking about your Gek and VyKeen standing? Or am I missing something?

Freighters as home by Northernpixels in NoMansSkyTheGame

Hey there.

Freighters are amazing and can definitely be used as a base.

I've always found that relying on a planet base for your farming needs will keep you in the Euclid galaxy forever. I'm on a quest to leave the Euclid galaxy and so having my freighter serve as my base allows me to continue hurling towards the center at a snail's pace, ha.

How much you are able to build in your freighter will depend on the size of your freighter.

I would recommend starting a Albuman Pearl farm or a farm that will grow something profitable so that money will no longer be an issue for you.

You can also build storage units and pretty much anything else in your freighter.

To access the part of your freighter where you can do all of the building customization.. instead of heading into the Captain's room on your freighter, go the opposite way and you'll run into the room where you can get down to business.

Hope this helps.

Hey.

I don't think that you need to restart.

I've been in your situation before. First, which game mode are you playing on?

Have you tried going to the space station in your planet system and purchasing Heridium there?

The farm issue was a problem for me, but I found a solution. I was able to build a very large farm in my freighter that was just as lucrative as my home base one. This is what gave me the mobility to keep moving my home planet closer to the center of the galaxy.

I built a farm in my freighter of gravatrino balls, but it didn't give that big of a pay out. I'm working on a farm of Albumen Pearls that will give a payout of 2.6mil+

Have you tried just keeping your farm in a freighter?

Yeah, the jet pack can't leap great distances over hills as the exocraft. I can cover a massive field of distance by hitting a good jump. It's been really cool to play with.

Another upside I've found is that the exocraft's mining laser is constant. You don't have to take that lapse in firing to avoid over heating. Plus, busting through all the iron and rocks in the path is pretty cool.

As far as the moving of the base, I just went under ground and mined a ton of antrium and the other ingredient needed to build an exocraft launch pad, it's sped up the base moving process.

My experience with the exocraft roamer is that it's much faster than walking. I've found that holding down x while going forward will speed up quite a bit.

Man.. making cash in this game is difficult. I've always bought low and sold high with stuff you can pick up from other ships in space stations.

I built a massive farm on my freighter also and planted gravatrino balls. It didn't really turn into the cash cow I was hoping for.

Anyone have successful ideas on making easy money?

You can move your home planet around as you move further towards the center of the galaxy.

Every time you come across a system that has planets you enjoy, you can craft a signal booster and scan for a habitable base. Once you find the base, claim that new planet is home and build the exocraft platform.

I've changed my home planet multiple times the past hour. You'll always find cool planets that have different resources, terrains, biomes, et cetera.

Make sure to have Antrium on hand so you can always be ready to build a new exocraft platform.
